My question is do they echo during the phone call? Like hearing my voice or something… When I first bought my first headphones 2 years ago I had a hard time deciding from Bose or Sony xm2 or xm3 don’t remember which one. Luckily a friend of mine had the Sony headphones I think it was xm3 and let me test it out everything was amazing on it but when I tried phone calling on it it echoed and I heard my own voice while talking not sure what was the reason to it but I can’t talk and hear my own voice.
So with this boring story I have given you all 😂 does the xm4 echo when I make a phone call?

I’ve got both and prefer the Sony, I like my bass. I noticed when you’re having a bumpy ride the Bose have a slight interruption.

Is that 20 hours on the Bose a real 20 hours or does 20 hours really mean like 12 hours like it did on the Bose QC 35 II that’s now down to about half that after two years.

Marques brownlee, much larger channel and tech reviewer giving the sonys the king title, don’t trust this guy as much. Seemed pretty biased when many other reviews I’ve seen going slightly over to Sony.

Owned both which I got for the same price (400nzd) but sold the xm4s, due to these reasons:
1. XM4 becomes more uncomfortable (unbearable) to my ears after an hour of non-stop usage. This is subjective to ear size
2. XM4 has some connectivity issues with my samsung tv. It doesn’t disconnect but the sound is most of the times bad with constant distortion which I need to reconnect constantly to fix. I believe this just need some firmware updates. (never had this issue on the nc700 and the senns hd350bt)
3. Multi-connectivity sometimes does not switch automatically from PC to phone whenever I get calls.

Sound quality wise, they both have their strengths and flaws, so I can live with either. The only thing I like the xm4 better is the battery life, however mine doesn’t live up to the 30hrs claim (~24hrs only) but its still better than the 20hrs from nc700.

Sony’s adaptive noise feature drives me mad. Despite switching it off, it pauses my music and schizoprenically changes the setting randomly every few minutes when I’m shopping in aldi. Perfectly fine when I’m at my desk but it’s intolerable when I’m on the move. I love my Bose when I’m on the move and even when hiking, they are awesome.

Not that you need to do this but “IF” you ever need to replace the battery (DIY), I’ve seen youtube videos and Sony is easier to replace the battery than Bose.
