I hope there’s a way to *prevent* the xm4 from auto switching to a call; my use case is that if I’m watching tv/movie, *I* will chose whether I want to take a call or not. It’d be annoying if I had to constantly tell my phone to *not* pair with my headphones… Two things I’d wished you’d covered were, addressing latency: is there any? Also, I was wondering if there were any compatibility issues with differing generations of bluetooth.

These Sony headsets are nowhere near as good as they should be at this price point. Mid-and low-frequencies are mixed and the overall picture is lost in terms of details and clarity.

There is certain normalization ( cuts ) of sound at all stages, and I think this is due to the Bluetooth hardware used here.

True, consistent sound with attack, details and clarity emerges when you attach the headphones to the wire that comes with the kit. Yep, you hear me – a WIRE!

On this basis, it becomes apparent that it makes no sense to purchase these headphones, which are marketed as premium wireless headphones. They just not! And it’s all pretty mediocre.

Had a pair of the xm4s and returned them soon after getting them. I didn’t like how they were designed. I thought they felt flimsy to me. All that plastic and the ear cups swiveled so much. I felt I could accidentally break them if I weren’t careful. I’ve never before had a headphone where I felt I had to be careful when I wanted to use it. The call quality was okay to me. The sound was very good. I think in the future, I’ll get the bose nc700s. I’ve heard some reviews of those, and the quality of phone calls alone beat the Sony xm4’s. If the build quality of the sony headphones had been just a little better, then I would have probably kept them.

Had these about a week now. Anyone have issues with ears getting warm after 30 minutes or so? Enjoying the sound, hopefully they eventually cool down. Believe i read somewhere that they will.

I have WH-1000XM4 .Using them with my windows computer.
Why don’t you show how these headphones really work on windows?

1) Have you ever tried setting the volume up from let’s say 50% to 100% on windows !!!!???? It takes 10 seconds of holding the finger or about 17 gestures!!!
2) Speak to chat- how can I deactivate this annoying functionality forever !!!!?
– I can’t. It is being activated every time I accidentally touch my headphones.
3) Also Cortana on windows starts randomly when I barely touch my headphones! And I can’t do anything to stop this!

People, don’t buy this crap, it’s a waste of money. The sound is good, but the gestures are just so annoying, I think the only purpose of these headphones is to ruin your days!!!

How is your call experience? When I’m on the phone, any noise around me is heard very loudly by the person that I’m talking to. They keep complaining, is very annoying. Does anyone know how to fix this?

How well do these work with having a conversation with someone who walks up to ask a quick question? Do they just stop noise cancellation or are they processing external sound, like voice, to make the conversation sound like they are not muffled as would be wearing headphones with the noise cancellation off?

How’s the bass component on the xm4? I just got the xb900n which is good on the bass side but the mids and highs are not great. If the xm4s have good bass I’m planning to have mine replaced. Please advice!

Sony supports LDAC, Bose does not.

This was important enough for me to choose these over the Bose 700.
