those look like Elac speakers. i listened to a few pair hoping to love them. but they left me cold. you should review speakers. i went from paradigm reference studio 20 v3 to Monitor Audio Silver 100 and they are much better. i wonder what would have to say. you are a practical honest reviewer. i cant undetstand why you havent reviewed the lg cx months ago though.

I love my xm3’s and I have been hard on them. Take them to the car wash on the regular, gym and my 4 year old has dropped/stepped on them several times. Still rocking. So worth the money. My audio techs have been collecting dust from the day I bought mine. Dual pairing would be great to have. The only complaint I had with mine other than pairing is my swipe up and down movements do not always work. I don’t mind the battery life so I think it’s fine they didn’t upgrade the battery. If you don’t own the xm3’s get em or these new ones you will thank me later.

Do these give you a granular battery percentage, Instead of that ridiculous “High” (100%), “Medium” (70%) and “Low” (20%)?

Surprised that they have done nothing to call quality, that was terrible on the m3’s.. so bad that you needed another headset even.
.. I mean did you even try the call quality before making the review? fantastic?!… several friends and colleagues have there and we basically conclude the same.

I have the xm3 and although I love them I do not love the sound quality as you say everyone does. The bass is great but the mid and high are lacking to say the least. Compare them to an IEM like the Shure 535, which still costs about the same and its miles better, however everything other than sound quality is worse on the 535, particularly durability.

Ok a question, Most of my music is Punk rock on mp3s 192 bitrates….Punk is independent and to put it bluntly pretty poor recordings, would the DSEE which I read as improving lossless sound actually improve the sound quality? Besides that I own the WH-1000XM3 and I don’t really see any other reason to upgrade, in fact while this was a great review and excellently presented you didn’t actually say if it was in your own opinion worth upgrading? I only use the headphones for gaming and trying to have the best sound quality for the poor Punk music mp3s that I use.

Experienced so many serious problems with the XM3s. Sony replaced 7 sets of these headphones for me and all had similar issues. Ranging from poor call quality, no longer charging after a few months use, and one pair that overheated so badly whilst charging that glue from inside the headset melted and covered the charger cable contact and the charger port on the headphones. Really annoyed given how much they cost!!

Let’s be real: the noise cancelling and sound quality are excellent. If this is all you care about, these (or the XM3s) are a fine choice. But…

Multipoint is still a joke. For the price, these need to be able to connect simultaneously to two devices. I want to be able to switch from two devices that play audio seamlessly. ONLY being able to switch to my phone is pointless when the microphone is so bad.

I’ve liked my 3s and use they daily, but those two short comings make these a bad choice for a lot of people who switch devices and hope to take/make calls on them. FFS, AirPods Pro does a better job in this space.

Get your act together Sony.
