My school implemented the no headphones in the hallways rule because there was a bomb threat (which ended up being a false alarm) and the entire school had to be evacuated. But one guy was still on campus like an hour later because he was in the bathroom with his earbuds in and he didn’t even know what was going down. So the school banned earbuds so that if a similar situation went down everybody would be aware of what was going down and that scenario would never happen again…

…which makes sense in theory, but when you actually think about it the reasoning is terrible. The incident happened in the BATHROOM, not the hallways, where it would literally be impossible to enforce

ong bro. after lunch i go to my class with my airpods in. some teacher i dont even know starts yelling at me for having my airpods in and she take them to the office. and the bell hadnt even rang yet😢

The clear backpack rule pissed me off at first but then again it wasn’t so we didn’t have any privacy but after you have a shooting within an hours drive from you at another school it makes since.
