I have a hunch that it’s something to do with IP/Patents, probably to someone like Dolby, Sony or Bose. Don’t get me wrong, its still horrible and a class action waiting to happen (as well as being illegal under false advertising and misrepresentation/non-disclosure of the change, at least in my jurisdiction).

It is very noticeable especially when I use the ANC on commute. From the previous firmware I barely hear any people voices but now I can hear them slightly louder.

After I installed iOS 16 on my 13 pro max I noticed that my airpod pro 1st generation sounded really bad with horrible battery life even though they were 5 months old but they are better again
