modularity is only useful in expensive and regularly changing tech, i just don’t think headphones are that, by there is another audio revolution, you will want a shiny new headband and cable too!

nope not worth it…………………….
the great thing about buying set of headphones today, its that there are so many great choices, and older legendary headphones cost so much less then it used to
so for 200$ you can get some very impressive legendary headphones made and composed by best audio brands, and engineers that are going to blow your mind.
Also you know there is such thing on like every single music player an equaliser, you want more bass, turn down rest of frequencies and set volume higher, but if you cant use equaliser to adjust to your needs, then how the fuck you will manage to chose a right preset for your self when it comes to audio………..

It all sounds fine and dandy (pun unintended) on paper, but if the sound quality of these modular units is sub-par then the entire product line becomes worthless. I assume that this is another product with too much focus on the gimmick — the modularity, while forgoing the core practicality of the product in question; sound quality. You’re still stuck with only one vendor, that being AIAIAI. Considering that fact, you’re locked in with the few “upgrades” available in terms of sound from AIAIAI.

Tl;dr: I care much more about the quality of my sound instead the position of my audiojack input, or the size of the ear cups.

I honestly think there’s merit to a video like this. Modularity is never a bad thing, and if the product actually has some proper quality-to-price ratio then this could have some real impact on the headphone scene where certain brands definitely get away with charging a large premium things like “design” and “brand”.

ATH-M50X is perfect at its price range. Also, ppl calm down, LTT wouldn’t do a promotion for something they dislike. He promoted them before at the end of an episode and I’m sure there was people who wanted to know if they are actually worth it. So stop it with “LinusAdwhoreTips” jokes, they are unjustified.
