xm3, mx4, airpod max, Beoplay portal PC/ps5 and this xm5. To me, I like them all but I still wearing my Beoplay out today. The mx5 still has the advantages of being new toy “honeymoon” pleases. Xm5 is good but I don’t think it’s that much better then xm4 when come to sound quality.

Air pods max are way superior to sony in things sound, connections and build quality. Not even close… comfort is very subjective but I would go with them all day over any other headphone.

I think that’s the first time I downvoted an LTT video. Really unprofessional review with many mistakes while using the device (I’m an XM4 owner and noticed right away so many errors)

They’re not meant to sound analytical. You listen in noisy environments and their default EQ will compensate for that alongside the noise cancellation. Having said that I have the XM3 and I love them and if they died tomorrow I’d get the XM5 right away.

It’s very disappointing to see someone like you talk negatively about the headphones you’re trying while most of your complaints are actually not real issues.. most of the things you said are wrong because you didn’t read how to use the features and they work perfectly if you just knew how to use them.. and by the way.. most of these features have been in the headphones from the XM3’s.. so good job on misleading everyone

I know people mock wired headphones, but after using the Hifiman Sundaras for so long with a wire, I really couldn’t be less bothered by it.
It’s waaay better than having them end up in a landfill because I can’t replace the battery (happened to my Bose QC 35). Anything with a battery has a finite number of charge cycles.
When listening to music, the cable makes 0 difference imo.

(That being said, active noise cancelling headphones probably can’t draw enough power from the jack… I’m not too sure).

I tried the black Sony xm5 and Sennheiser wireless momentum 3.0 in the store at the same time.
While the Sennheiser is 100€ cheaper than the new Sony. I was way more impressed by the overall audio quality and build quality of the Sennheiser, ANC of the Sennheiser was very acceptable, but the ANC of the Sony xm5 is where it really shines. Everything was so quite in there while in a busy store, couldn’t hear my gf talking right next to me which was a huge +

I also tested the xm4. And I have to say, the audio quality of the xm5 is way better. Bass is less muddy, bit more punchy and detailed, it doesn’t distort the mid and high tones much anymore. So that’s really good.
But for overall audio quality and build quality, the Sennheiser wireless momentum 3.0 still won by a mile.

Nah the airpods max became contenders for the WH-1000 series, not the other way around. SONY was already on the top of their game when Apple entered the market.
