Linus should have connected to LDAC Bluetooth device for the Hi-Res audio…. iPhone doesn’t support LDAC, I think most Android phones do

Then he should have tested the audio quality

I have been using XM4’s since the day of their launch and to be completely honest, after one week I have turned off all of the “bells and whistles” like the touch interface, all the app driven assisting features (location based settings etc.) and used it as a pair of normal headphones since then. Engineering of those was great but the sound and usability (have to enter the app every time I turn them on just to disable ANC because the “multi function button” is already used by G Assistant) is rather lacking. They sound far worse than any of my cable driven headphones but… well I bought them to use outside during the commute and such so I cannot expect that much from BT. I did already order XM5’s, should be arriving this Friday and I miss crucial info in this video: will the settings be remembered by the headphones or will I be forced once again to use the app each time I turn them on just to disable the horrible ANC… And to top it up, WF-1000XM4 do remember that ANC was switched off :).

I honestly rather use them with a cable simply because I don’t like having to deal with making sure all my stuff is charged before I can use my computer, which is where I would use headphones of that nature

Jeesh this video was frustrating. It was blindly obvious he didn’t read the instructions. To pause you have to double tap not single tap like he was doing. Also the Quick Ambient mode where he was holding his hand to the side of his head, to do that you have to put your hand over the ear cup. Cover it with your hand. Not from a distance. So that’s why that didn’t work. Things made to look like negatives in this video were mainly things Linus was doing wrong. 😂😂

Clicked on the video expecting a review. Stopped watching once it went on some tangent on packages and scorpions and God knows what. Linus’s reviews are getting a bit tiresome, sorry.

At least on my XM4s, that speak to chat thing was very annoying and too sensitive. Couldn’t even clear my throat without tripping it. Immediately disabled along with automatic play/pause when taking headphones off because that wouldn’t ever work properly. Otherwise, it’s a pretty good sounding headset with impeccable noise canceling.

At 8:00, he probably had the “focus on voice” mode active. It’s not whole ambient but instead focuses on the human voice frequency range, They suggest it for example when you are at a train station waiting: cuts out noises but lets in the departure/arrivals speaker voice.
Thus influencing how everything sounds.

This video feels a bit rushed.
