yeah, this video felt unusually shit. Got the impression that you weren’t at all interested, not even bothering to read the instructions for the touch controls properly. other “smart functions” are mostly annoying to me on my older model too, but you could at least mention that they can be turned off or adjusted.
keep doing quality over quantity. i get that short circuit isn’t about doing the deep dive, but for most people this wouldn’t be a fair first impressions either. get another host to do it or push it back if you’re not in the right headspace to explore the product properly within the allotted time

Hey linus you should have spent some time with the headphones prior to recording the video. Then give us your detailed review. Learning about the headphones during a video recording session makes up for a dumb, boring and misleading video. As several people have pointed out. You were using the controls incorrectly and in the end lead your viewers to believe that Sony made a mistake. Which in fact is the other way around.
You are doing what unbox therapy does.
Do less of unbox therapy and do more of MKBHD and Dave Lee.

Don’t compare it to the $800-900ca headphones (apple airpods max) its more around the bose qc… I don’t like how airpods pro are the “standard” and airpods max and stuff are the “standard” when there are far better stuff. Even being cheaper

1. Read the instructions before reviewing the product.
2. Try testing on Android with LDAC.
3. Install Wavelet and enable the EQ profile for the specific headphones.

iPhones will always sound worse than Android due to their lack of a PEQ, which provides the single biggest upgrade to audio you can make. It is a shame so few know about them.

i would love to watch anyother host other than linus , maybe he got bored from all this review but he ain’t what he used to be . this review was so unprofessional and unfair to sony. how could you compare this 300$ product with 500 and 700$ one .

I just checked out your previous review sennheiser IE600.

To be fair with sony, you are comparing between apple bluetooth AAC codec and wire. you didn’t even try on LDAC codec.

I am annoyed on poor bluetooth codec on Apple product. I hope Apple will improve bluetooth codec on iPhone next gen.

testing the speak to chat disable time alongside the video with my XM4s at 9:58 and I noticed that it is 4 seconds longer than it is on the XM5s
