Have you tried on zoom while playing a music or something? Its weird it, the music become lowpass and focus on voice. I think its just because on windows 11 or sht. Its only freehand mode there are not option to switch to stereo to hear both voice and music.

For the play/pause, you can set it to tap, sure, but there’s also a function where you hold your hand over an earcup and it pauses and temporarily turns off ANC, in theory that’s good for if someone is trying to talk with you real quick. So that’s what the play/pause glitch might have been, if I had to guess. A good idea, but on the XM4s not the best execution, maybe.

As someone who was (more or less) tricked by reviews that either brushed over (or completely ignored) the cons and (IMO, at least partially) overstated the pros of the WH-1000XM3.
How good would you say that the XM5 is compared to earlier iterations and other headphones for the same price?

The narrow headband looks like it might move around more when you run.

XM-4 owner here, pretty sure you can pause with double tap, and you can also lower the delay before noise cancellation kicks back in when you talk to as short as 15 seconds (hoped it could be 5s, but maybe it’s an XM-4 limitation)… As for the EQ, I don’t know if the sound signature is equal to XM-4, but personally I flattened it with some personal flavoring using 0, +4, +5 (+6 might be more accurate), 0, 0 and -1 for clear bass… It could have more lines but that works pretty well (also, EQ is stored within the headphones once tuned, which is pretty neat to use on multiple devices)
