I love dbrand’s sponsor spots on here 😀 I hear horror stories from youtubers regularly where companies demand basically a 2 minute word-for-word script of corporate talking points and they don’t seem to realize that this kind of advertising just works a lot better 😀

It just feels like you don’t care about the product and put any effort into exploring what it offers. Seems like you did not even use the controls correctly and played some random songs of some random genre. Not all songs would sound the same, they all depend on the sound signatures of the headphones. Maybe songs of different genres would have sounded much better in these headphones.

Has battery life/bluetooth increased in the past few years? Because I denounced that technology years ago when both your headphones and cellphone consumed most of its battery in just an album of music. I’ll take cables over bluetooth any day of the week.

Missing Apt-X support again is a pain since Bluetooth codecs on Windows are a barebone mess rn. Casually awaits Crinacle and RTings reviews before plumping though

Could you compare them to an older sony headphones with similar freatures but not the XM4 or XM3. Compare them to something like an h.ear ON 3 WH910n or XB910N

I’m still using the first gen of these and comparing them with a friend who has the third gen, the sound quality went WORSE over time. Now looking at the fifth gen, my first impression from this video was “Damn, the carrying bag got HUGE”. Apparently the new design they’ve introduced lost the capability to swivel and fold the headphones so subsequently the carrying case is – comparatively – massive. Somehow, I don’t know why, while the battery life and charging speed got better (as did the ANC!) Sony have completely lost the way on compactness in storage and sound quality. Really a big shame!
