No one should buy the XM3/4’s for comfort or sound quality. They’re hot, sweaty and itchy and sound like bloated ass. But for noise canceling on flights they’re AMAZING. Oh and the touch controls are shit and passive mode is a gimmick

Warning.
I bought mostly sony headphones for many years, and had the 1st gen for around 3 years and the 4th for 1 year.
I really liked them, but i wouldn’t buy a sony headphone again:
– the “bluetooth connected” lady cannot be completely turned of, and is annoying as fuk
– the plastic near the hinge started to have creacks on both, but at different places
– the worst was how both of them died on me…
– the first: one they i started to hear a barely audible whining sound,
after 2 days i started to look for a new pair, but i kept using it.
Around three days later that whining started to get loud suddenly, and i took of immedietally,
and i noticed that when i was tilting the headphone the noise was louder,
and in some angles i could hear it from the other room,
i believe i nearly lost my hearing that day, my right ear was hurting for a day atleast.
– 2nd: happened the same, i started to hear the bearly audible whining, and said fuk no bought an airpods and didn’t used it since.

Fool me once, shame on…shame on you. Fool me twice … shame on me. Fool me—you can’t get fooled again.

Huge fan of LTT over the years but this is probably one of the worst videos they have done, I have the XM4s and Linus didn’t know how to use many of the headphones features (it’s totally normal for someone that is testing this headphones for the first time but someone should have warn him or teach him how to use quick atention, double tap, hovering your hand on the right side etc etc…). Sorry if I am being somewhat rude, just wanted Linus to experience all the features properly and know his opinion!

Functionality wise i think sonys been doing great but i wish the sound quality was just better 😭 trying to have that analytical sound as he calls it

I guess the sound was not fully appreciated since Linus used an Iphone. Because Sony’s LDAC cant be used on Iphones.

My goodness, all these comments about touch controls… lol.
Wireless headphones need like 4 buttons and they dont need to be fancy. What matters is sound, and Sony’s is honestly mediocre; build quality, these are slightly above average and ofc; noise canceling, and these are SUPERB for the current level of tech involved.

Touch controls is absolutely meaningless, unless the basic feature is absent, broke or annoying. Other than that, i cant believe so many commenters care Linus doesn’t get it right… because it doesn’t matter. If your spending north of $200 for noise canceling or fast charging, then these and the previous generation will get the job done. If your spending that much looking for sound quality, look elsewhere.

Wait… is that connected to an iPhone? Should demo it with Android so it uses LDAC instead of AAC. Cmon Apple.
