I’m sorry but this “review” let’s me question every review Linus / LMG has done until now. While I do have a lot to criticize on Sonys WH100XM line, this isn’t fair to them.
As mentioned by others, the controls do work and if Linus had payed attention to the tutorial he would have known.
In addition I’m fairly certain (not sure though as it might have been changed with XM4/XM5) that he hasn’t used the sound quality option but the connection quality option.
Last, but minor point, I found to have the best audio result while using no EQ and DSEE HX in Auto mode (XM3).
But surely it is super annoying that every Sound the headphones make just completely causes the original sound source to be blocked instead of being reduced.

Anyways I would never have bought over ears, simply don’t like them.
Anyone got a good advice for cabled in ears with good NC, after all, battery powered in ears are mostly electric waste after a couple of years?

The rough and ready style of ShortCircuit can be charming, but you have too large a following and too strong a brand not to get the basics right. Whoever writes the notes and knows how the product works needs to step in more to get the basic facts right. Otherwise this is just a blog channel masquerading as a tech channel.
The question is why would I watch this when MKBHD does a more thorough, accurate video at the same time?

Hey LTT, try out the Shure Aonic 50! Sound quality is over the roof, especially when used with 3.5mm or USB-C cables, much better than Bose and Sony (as far as my opinion goes, oc!), I think they’re the best paid of cans for on-the-go audiophiles! Excellent soundstage, great instruments separation, superb equaliser!

Low quality BT codec on windows/mac/iphone. LDAC is supported only on Android/Linux.
Noise canceling is useless on bike/windy day.
Sony android app is full of bugs. After week just stop working.
So basically you just paying for noise cancelling.
Overhyped crap.

Big improvement is the ip rating.
You can use the M5 even if its raining, but not the mx4, they will break rather fast if you use them in rain/damp weather
