The monkey cable does have real life sense. WH1000’s secret is that alot of them will have failed battery at some point. Happened to me recently with my XM4, and while I was waiting for a replacement battery arrived, I still could use them as a traditional analog headphones.

I mean headphones have come a long way from the chunky bois of the 70s with non-detachable cables, even in the budget category you get great audio, comfort and battery life. But why is it that modern bluetooth headphones with mics crap out the quality when audio has to go both ways? Is it because of different bluetooth versions not supporting each other?

Only took them 3 revisions to fix it it seems. Still expensive for no reason. I got a Soundcore Life Q30 for way less money, good quality sound and decent NC. The only thing I do miss from the MX3’s is the auto switch to ambient when you start talking, nothing else.

I’ve been using XM4s for a couple months. Some issues I’d like to see resolved are:
Randomly turning on the *turn off noise canceling when speaking thing* feature, quite annoying when using in a discord call

They play notification jingles but I can’t find a single source that tells me what each sound means

Having to differentiate between “stereo”(no mic) and “headset”(uses mic) in device and software settings in windows. Headset mode removes all audio that isn’t from the program using your mic.

I’ve got an XM3 and the noise cancelling got worse over time. I’m not sure if I could trust any newer iterations to not do the same.
