So you are seriously telling me that for 7 years linus has NEVER used windows 10’s swift pair feature?
No wonder he complains about windows’s bluetooth so much.
You have to actually touch your palm to the headset for the full ambient mode. Your palm was like hovering an inch away from the headset.
dbrand is desperately trying to convince id!ots that they’re fellow kids…
In my opinion, hands down these are definitely better than Bose. Sony(1979) has been in the audio business since well before my time, and definitely doing headphones before Apple(2001) and Bose(1989). Often they balance audio better, but they do have some dirty ones you wouldn’t want if you’re an audiophile.
You can get a lot “truer” sounding headphones for cheaper, but these are a more modernised approach to those awesome bulky cheap audiophile ones you can get that you’d only wear round the house.
Still loving my XM4, curious how much the XM5 differs in its sound quality. Eq-ing is essential on the XM4, default sound (including headphone jack) is ridiculously muddy. But with some eq-ing the sound is awesome, at least for a non-audiophile
when you talked about the caveman cabel my dog whent crazy
Look how they massacred my boy
WH-1000XM4: 40mm driver, 30hrs (ANC on) / 38hrs (ANC off) playback time / Bluetooth 5.0 / Earcups can be swiveled inward for carrying
WH-1000XM5: 30mm driver, 30hrs (ANC on) / 40hrs (ANC off) playback time / Bluetooth 5.2 / Earcups cannot be swiveled inward (only rotation)
I already have XM4 on my hands, and I don’t think I’m ever getting XM5. Too small improvements, and it also has stepbacks in a couple of places.
But I still think their user experience should be good enough, because I loved every second of using XM4; think upgrading from non-flagship will be worth the money.
Now we wait for the sonic review by crinicle
I have the XM4s and I can tell you most of the problems that Linus had are not actually problems, let me explain:
Speak to chat can be activated or deactivated by holding 2 fingers on the touch pad. The deactivation time and sensitivity are also adjustable.
For quick attention mode ,you need to hold your hand over the touchpad and touch it not just holding it near it.
Play and pause are double tap not single tap.
The custom EQs are there so you can customize the eq presets and have them saved. The manual one is for making your own eq from start, at the end, you have 3 customized EQs that are saved in the app.
For volume, you can touch and hold to go up or just swipe fast. I think it was the iphone that had problems with registering the adjustments since that works fine on my XM4 on Android.
There is also a pop up pair thing like air pods and google assistant on Android as well.
Also fiy: There is a specific noise canceling mode for wind, just move the slider in the app one step to the right. You can also switch the ambient mode to focus on voices
Fairly certain Linus forgot that you need to double tap for pause
05:38 oh yeah, Robot Camo, have it for my phone and it looks amazing, so many hidden details to discover 🙂
They made them ugly. Going to keep the xm4’s and what happend to the sensor in the earcup.
RETURN TO MONKE 1:13
honstly i wanna know how does the microphone sound both wired and wireless mode! all this time it absolutely baffles me why wireless mic quality is so garbage…. also quick abient mode is long touch panel, stop is double tap.
yes both the XM3 and XM4 can be EQ out but whats the fun in that? _lets just keep cranking that stinky base till they rattle_
oh, are the earcups larger? it kinda seems like they are vs the XM4….
Have XM2 since launch and still using it today, but looks like it’s THE time to upgrade now that they’ve changed the silhouette for XM5.
As for the sound, if it’s anything like my XM2s, you gotta burn it in for a much fuller experience.
One of these days we’ll see on the news that Linus has gone postal, and it’ll be all because a dbrand sponsorship finally pushed him too far. lol
Yeah, the debrand portal was down, then when it came back up refused to take the code. Their loss
Def less portable than the XM4
dont make fun of 3.5mm linus
