I just don’t want to give Meta any of my money. I understand that Sony has been a bad actor in past (root kit, walled garden), but Meta takes things to a whole new level.
I have to disagree with the games. Horizon is a great game, I almost completed it and the further you get into the game the better it gets. GT7 is a great car simulation game in VR, also RE Village is top notch. Those three games alone make PSVR 2 worth it.
Ape escape music… I feel like not for the first time.
GT 7 and RE 8. The best two games you didn’t play?
um, you definitely left out some killer apps. RE Village, GT7…try those bud. Also, give The Light Brigade a try, its freaking awesome
Why have you not played GT7 and Resident Evil 8? The two best games and free upgrades! Are you deliberately ignoring them. This video is not representative of the launch line up. This video is a poor and incomplete overview of PSVR2.
Ngl kind of strange to hear you say the PSVR2 headphones are bad and the MetaQuest speakers are good when most people say the MetaQuest speakers are fucking awful. Also Humanity has a VR mode. You didn’t launch it in VR mode lmao. And please for the love of god that article about PSVR2 production cost was debunked. It was written by a horrible journalist with a terrible track record of lying to hurt Sony.
It’s refreshing to see more honest reviews of Horizon. I think people are really overhyping the game to be a lot more than it is. As a VR experience, sure it’s cool. But it’s a 6-hour linear game that’s mostly climbing. Resident Evil 8 is more worth talking about because that’s a full-length game that was already good without VR. I want to see more games like that with VR modes patched in later on after release. In my opinion, that’s the future of VR; AAA games that can be optionally played in VR and deliver an alternative way to immerse yourself in an already great game.
Did you play RE8 or GT7? The graphics on both are miles better than Quest 2. You said there’s no great games but didn’t even bother trying all the free demos??? Are you interested in any of the tons of games coming soon, like Switchback, Firewall ultra, Crossfire etc?
If you’re going to talk about the game library not having any killer apps, and not even mention the VR modes that were added to RE Village, GT7 and No Man’s Sky (admittedly that one is available on other platforms as well), you’re not really giving the full picture here.
I appreciate your review on the device, and think your assessment is entirely fair. If you have a high end gaming PC and budget, you might be better off waiting for the PICO.4 that’s coming out. Bang for the buck metric I think PS5 + PSVR2 tops if you have the interest.
With that said, I do want to bring up a few things that I hope you check further into when you have a chance. When it comes to the killer app, people have been arguing 3 main titles. Call of the Mountain, Resident Evil Village VR, and GT7. I think it would be worthwhile to give each a shot and possibly do a follow up if you feel like going further.
I do agree that the lineup includes mostly boosted 3rd party titles which is great for me since I never got into the Meta Quest eco system (last VR I had was Vive on Steam), but reading between the lines: Sony owns a dedicated studio for VR development (Firesprite), and they did put what was clearly a lot of effort in developing PSVR2 to make it high end competitive.
I believe they’ll do exactly what they did with PS5. They’ll have deals with 3rd party exclusives, they’ll include multiplats, and they’ll develop their own games (which will be AAA budget similar to COTM). I didn’t recall there being this much activity for PSVR and that generation did get a decent amount of traction for how complicated the setup was and the game selection.
I seriously cannot get my head around why people forget this has only just came out. There’s quite a number of significant titles available, especially if people missed out on any of the upgraded PSVR1 ports. Turismo is certainly significant, alongside No Man’s Sky etc. Ultimately things will get much more exciting as the year unfolds. Sony wouldn’t waste their time investing in it if the software wasn’t coming.
You have amazing production value in all your videos. I just got my PSVR2, having fun with it so far!
I also downloaded that damn demo that was in the PSVR2 that wasn’t VR! and yes the sound sucks. That being said, I got it for GT7 and my steering wheel setup. it’s AMAZING. and got the pulse headset, that fits perfectly with the PSVR2, of course..oh and the extra points for daytona USA running on the rig behind you during the video.
Notice how you didn’t try GT7 and Resident evil village
You reviewed a console based on demos? Is this the poor people review channel? You didn’t even play Resident Evil Village, Gran Turismo 7, Pavlov, or at least the full version on Horizon. 🤦♂️

PS5 starts at $400 for the digital edition console. At least get your facts straight if you’re going to criticize Sony.
😂😂😂
Overpriced junk.
Usb C has taken technology further than every other one of those crummy cables before it. And it feels great to finally say goodbye to plugging a cable the wrong way. Power and high transfer rate is the future 👍
Plus my battery’s lost alot longer than 2 hours. At least 5 hours. Still a good review though 👌
