I played RE7 on the PSVR1 (exclusive) and it was the greatest VR experience I have ever had. I couldn’t recommend it enough to anyone that would listen. I originally had the PSVR2 preordered, but cancelled it because $550 was a lot of money for me at the time of release. It was only being sold on the PS Direct Website. Which was a bummer for me, since for something that expensive I would love to use my BestBuy or Amazon credit card with 12 months financing. Then I read RE Village and RE 4 (remake) VR versions were going to be exclusive on the PSVR2. I sucked it up and bought it that day. Surprisingly, the device was free shipping and it was delivered to my home address the next day. I have been playing RE Village in VR and it is visually stunning and a lot of fun to play. Can’t wait for RE 4 VR. Side note, I do have RE 4 VR on the Oculus (Meta) and its fine. Definitely worth a purchase on the Meta. Final side note, I hear GT 7 is almost perfect on PSVR2. Cannot wait to try it. Anyhoo, those are my two cents. Back to you Wulff.

Note that the Playstation Pulse headphones are the intended choice to use with the PSVR2. The earbuds are only an out of the box solution like the god awful integrated audio of the Quest 2 that allow you to use the headset without dropping an extra 100 on anything else. For most people, they fit over the headband without issue. Any small circular headphones would also be fine, but be sure it’s compatible with the console’s 3D audio to enjoy the experience.

It a great design, slick piece of kit. It’s expensive and there is too much blurred motion or double images. It’s still too low resolution in my opinion. It still need s to be better.

I would say go back to your vr2 and play resident evil village and grab turismo 7 on it. Those two games on vr2 and absolutely amazing

They should of made GT7 a pack in option. It’s the killer app many reviewers haven’t tried. Also I disagree with you saying psvr one wasn’t supported very well. I had 50 games on psvr 1. I felt like that was pretty good.

Sony must be betting on people who already own a PS5 to also get PSVR 2. Because I can’t see a tonne of people having close to $1000 to spend on the PS5 and a VR device.

I’ve been playing through RE Village on psvr2 and it’s pretty amazing. It’s actually my first play through so I don’t have a reference outside of VR but it’s pretty immersive and what struck me more than anything was the sense of scale of everything. The Duke and Lady D have a sense of presence that I don’t think you could get on a flat screen. There is some jank with it not being built from the ground up as a VR game but it works surprisingly well and you can tell a lot of love and work went into it. I would love if they did make a RE from the ground up for VR.

RE8 was better with the PC Mod due to regular gamepad support. PSVR 2 version is a dragged down gimmick trying to tell me that I’m supposed to be more immersed by jank. I’m not.
Won’t even bother with pavlov considering it’s only claim to fame is how much of that jank it forces as the only input option.

Which leaves GT7 as the only game currently that makes the PSVR 2 system worth owning.

Hopefully, they ditch this notion that VR games have to be played with these D-Padless motion controllers, so we at least start getting some more AAA gamepad VR games at least instead of nothing at all.
