You didn’t play res evil village or gt7. And you reviewed this headset?
So you absolutely hate the headset but came around to use a clickbate on a new video. There’s no games, but fail to play the best AAA games there’s within a month of launch. Your lose dude.
If you’re not going to use it, can I have it?
Horizon is the first big flagship VR gsme on PSVR2, plus 99% of people who buy it will be VR noobs. So naturally the game is catered to VR noobs. Don’t expect Alyx. It looks pretty, and works. They kept it simple for a reason. Gateway drug! Lol
My biggest gripe with VR is as the tech gets closer and closer to realism you have to stop and ask yourself, why not just go outside and experience real reality…
“They didn’t give us demo disk” “they gave us demos tho”…bro
So let me get this straight this big-time reviewer gets a free headset. Play any games on it just demos and gives a review:(
1000 dollar barrier to entry is “mainstream”? Come on Sony, just let me replace my oculus cv1 and my quest 2 with this and let me use it as my pc headset. I’ll never buy a ps5.
Ummm humanity is played in vr…YOU picked the wrong setting. Its dope in vr actually.
You half assed this review.
Glad you came around a little bit on it, but I feel like you didn’t try enough games. Trying most or all of the demos gives you a good view of the library as it is right now. You should try RE8, GT7 or Pistol Whip.
I love my PSVR2 so far. It plays some of my favorite VR games better than my PC at this point, however if Sony doesn’t give this system love and tons of support than it will become yet another Sony product that gets tossed in a couple years. I’m glad Sony is dipping into the VR market but they need to get ahold of some games/experiences that make VR so great on the PC to stay relevant in an already highly niche market.
Play gt7 re8 Pavlov switchback then tell me there are no games for this system
Im not big into legos, but can you imagine a VR lego building simulator with like infinite shape/size pieces in a massive space where you can just build anything and have full locomotion models? That would be interesting
VR exclusives are bad. Cross play is good. Stop complaining about no exclusives. VR is too segmented and cross play will allow it to survive and allow people to play together. Such an annoying complaint.
I came too
I have the quest 2
yo forget the psvr2 did anyone else catch that power stone 2 cabinet in the back
Overhyped fad.
Questionable review because it completely overlooks the biggest games on the PSVR2 , games like GT7 or RE8 which many would call the killer apps for the headset. It also dismisses games like Saints and Sinners which releases March 21, and RE4 remake which has PSVR2 support confirmed. Lastly and this a minor point, but the demo of Call of the Mountain while it does a good job of displaying the game, it is intended to be a tease to buy the full game which gets alot of flack for being too much climbing and not enough combat in reviews but these reviews also completely overlook the challenge arena mode in the game so theres that to keep in mind as well.
Also the Sony pulse 3d headset which has amazing 3d audio and takes full advantage of the PS5 and the PSVR2 headset 3d audio feature fits over the headset without issue and during the holiday was only 69.99. Also the Arctis steel series PS5 headset fits over the PSVR2 headsetwith issue as well. In fact since the PS5 supports full 3d audio on any earphone headset, you could use any wired earphones that connect to the 3.5mm jack in the headset and get better than the default earbuds that come with the headset.
Lastly the issue of price. I think for introductory VR you cannot beat the Metaquest 2. Its cheap, standalone if you already have a VR capable PC, it can be connected to a PC for a higher quality experience…..it gets the job done for someone looking to take there first steps into VR. But in the eyes of the average consumer, its affordability is perhaps its biggest weakness. Most people who buy the Quest 2 for VR as a standalone headset don’t typically have a console or a decent PC to run VR games, so for them the cost of a better experience on the Quest 2 includes a decent PC as well. Standalone, the Metaquest 2 is abysmal as a VR headset, its low resolution and because it is processing all the games on the headset, it almost requires a gamer to get additional staps to make the headset weigh less on the eyes, despite weighing less than the PSVR2 which puts no weight on the eyes since the PS5 is the processor. Also the quality of games played on a Quest 2 standalone is not nearly comparable to playing the same game on a PS5 or to playing the same game with it connected to a PC. To get the best use of the Metaquest 2 as a VR headset you almost have to pair it with a VR capable PC. Herein lies the problem…..a decent VR capable PC will cost you over 1500.00 dollars which is already over the price for a PS5 and PSVR2 combined, which no reviewer making the PSVR2 is too expensive narrative ever points out. Even if you build your own PC once you factor for parts of a mid tier build you are looking at least at 1200.00 dollars. If we are going to count the cost of a PS5 into the cost of PSVR2 for its quality, then you should include the cost of a decent PC into the cost of the Metaquest 2 in order to get a even remotely comparable experience. Price seems an odd narrative to push, since VR is often seen as a luxury in the gaming space and is more likely to take off with people who have either a VR capable PC or a console rather than someone who doesn’t have either. If you have a VR capable PC then you’ve already outspent a PS5 owner by a healthy margin, if you have a PS5 then for 550.00 you get all of the access to games of the Metaquest 2 at a significantly higher quality than the Metaquest 2 standalone and you get games that are not on Metaquest 2 at all like a RE8, RE4 or GT7 just to name a few. This pretending that PSVR2 has a limited library is like pretending the PS5 is only capable of playing Sony released titles in 2d. It makes no sense. If you own both a VR capable PC and a PS5 then you get the choice of cheaper but lower resolution VR on PC with Metaquest 2 or you can pay a bit more and get better quality VR with PS5.
Lastly please stop with the Sony abandoned PSVR1 narrative, despite being vastly underpowered to most other VR platforms because it was powered by the very weak for VR Ps4, the PSVR1 still has a library of games that would rival any VR marketplace out there because a good amount of VR games where on all platforms that offered VR. Making that Sony abandoned VR point is like saying that you own a PS but have never been into the Ps store…..you can literally sort PS4 games in the PS store into its own VR category.
