I got my AirPods around 2 years ago and just recently had to buy new ones because the right one completely stopped working and the left one’s battery was draining really fast.

I used them every day though, I’d say they definitely pass the test.

Edit: 3 years ago I didn’t realize 2020 was that long ago….

I’ve got my airpods 2nd gen since December 2019. Using them right now to watch this video 3 years and 2 months later. Battery is about 3 to 4 hours of listening. If I’m on a call though they’ll only last 1.5 to 2 hours. One of the microphones is also shot. But still work for me. 😅

Mine lasted just over 3 1/5 years they had around 5 hours of time till the last month and then they would die after an hour well worth the money and I used them next to every day and I allways let them die dead flat battery then full charge and I cleaned my charging case and AirPods with a cue tip and rubbing alcohol once a week

The regular AirPods do not last for ever AT ALL, the wires because coiled up and twisted where they look weird when using them and they because dirty and gross where they are impossible to clean, the black mesh part fills up with gross stuff that is impossible to clean, I remember using a tip of a knife to scrape the ear wax out and it only sloghtly worked but it push Ed a lot of it in deeper making it impossible to remove and also the wires would turn yellowish and look disgusting, and also the part where the wire connects to the wire would become all messed up. I have UrBeats headphones and they are the same price as Apple ones and the quality of the cord is perfect, it’s super loose and bendable in a good way where they never start to become all coiled up and messed up, also the wire is red and they can’t become yellow, you can also remove the tips so they are impossible to get filled with earwax, you can even push the 3.5 mm Jack through the tips perfectly to push out the clump of wax. The only thing I don’t like is that that type of headphones keep falling out for me

You also have to factor in people’s listening habits higher volumes will drain the battery thus needing to be recharged, discharge and recharge cycles is what diminishes battery life over time.

Bruh my headphone literally has tape as life support and it sounds great and 15 minutes of charging gives you 4 hours of listening 💀 i don’t even like music

Imagine paying 179$ for earphones, I got mine for 10$. It’s Bluetooth and sound great. No fancy noise cancelling tho.

One of the reasons I don’t bother with wireless earbuds from Apple. They’re way too expensive for something that won’t last and can be lost too easily. If I want wireless earbuds, I’ll get a pair for 30, if I want long term reliability, I’ll get wired earbuds, and if I want to shell out 200 dollars for headphones, I’d get JBLs

I have the pro 1st gen for 1 and half years and my transparency mode is broken i think the mic on the airpods has issues and on my right earpods it has a cracking sound when the bass hits sad
