This is the real reason why 3.5 mm jack were removed. A good pair of $200 headphones or earphones will last 5-6 years easily, and still be repairable, may be the jack would wear off, or the padding go lose but still be usable after repair, but these airpods won’t last 2 years if used extensively due to battery. Also, there are higher chances of losing one, or both the earphones since they’re not attached to each other. And you end up buying another set of earphones which now cost $250, a 25% markup from the earlier price because somehow economies of scale do not apply to these items, and the cost of raw material is somehow inflating at 10+% year or year, and making the same stuff somehow is 25% expensive.

I bought the apple earpods ( 3.5mm)from the apple online store, i use Android btw 😁 , but the earpods work fine . I never owned an apple product before . I just wanted to know where I can find the serial number, so i can register the product. I searched the box , the bills , nothing 🗿

i’ve had mine since like September 2021 so a little more than a year and they still feel like they’re new. bare in mind I don’t use them everyday but when I do, I keep them for hours at a time, sometimes I even recharge them and keep using them. Totally worth it imo.
