it’s called noise cancelling. noise isolating is when there is no noise leakage from your headphones….

I noticed that high quality cheap Chinese in ear headphones(kz, xiaomi, etc…) gives you better sound than most of the gaming headsets…
Besides all of that cool 3D sound illusion and shit is mostly a product of a good game engine not some fancy headphones.

I use a scroll hg5x and it’s honestly a really good gaming headset that’s crisp and has like crazy bass, and the mic is also pretty above average

It’s kind of like consoles, a gaming headset is acceptable for gaming, and nothing else. Good quality Headphones will work for gaming and a gazillion other media, even as a hands-free for cellphones.

While not related to gaming headsets, I have a funny story. My roommate’s girlfriend bought him a pair of Beatz headphones, he had them for about a month before they broke. He asked if he could borrow mine, the next day he gave them back asking where I’d gotten them. Apparently he thought they sounded way better than his Beatz ones did. The look on his face when I said I bought them for $20 at Walmart was priceless.

I’ve always felt that better quality is more important than a built in mic.

I always play my games with a 55 ohm headphone with pre amp and amp.

I love when I can feel explosions through the headphones. It enhances the experience to me.
