I have a pair of Logitech G430s. I cant tell the difference in sound quality between those and a pair of $800 beats. (except in almost all cases the beats are much less comfortable to wear)

sooo yeah. i also use an Antlion Modmic 2.0 instead of the inbuilt microphone.

would I buy them again given the chance? well, for two years up until recently I had a pair of G230s, so yes.

I got the Status Audio CB-1 headphones with a ModMic. I am very pleased with the quality this way.

It took me quite a while to find a good DAC/AMP and a pair of headphones for gaming. Problem is that when you are looking for tips and info, you end up with more questions then answers. Almost all sound cards provide the positional sound software which can emulate surround sound, but mostly sound cards are not recommended because they can give ‘static noise’. And a DAC/AMP is more recommended. I first had the Astro A40TR gaming headset + TR Mixamp which costed me €275,-. (it comes with an USB DAC) and I have to say that the positional audio was nice, but the headset was soooo bad in quality…. What a piece of junk. I sold them after 1 week or so. I now have the soundblaster x7 external DAC/AMP with a Sennheiser HD 650. The X7 is €325,- or something, and the HD650 costed me €350,-. Finally got everything I need. HD650 is the most comfortable and best sounding pair of headphones I have ever had. Worth the price of the Asto A40 more then 20 times!

I just game on my Yamaha HS8’s running through my NI Komplete Audio 6 interface, and use my Sennheiser HD 280 Pro’s when I need to use headphones for anything. I’m picking up an AT2020 mic as soon as I get paid.

Good one Linus but one thing i’d like to know is, if i want to use speakers + headphones both through 3.5mm jack, how i’d use them both at the same time plugged in (not considering the front panel, only the green jack in the back)? Is it possible to make another jack emulate a default audio in?
