Ok perfect timing. I just got Astro A40 with mixamp pro TR for £200. ! Its killing me the thought of it costing that much but im too lazy to look into amps and headphones etc. Ideas? Alternatives?

Sorry but that argument was shitty… A Headphone that is good for Movie and Music is also good for Gaming. There is nothing special that makes a Headset perfect for Gaming in terms of Soundquality… In a good Headphone/set for gaming you want a big soundstage which is good for music and esepecially movies too.. So if the Headset sucks for Movies/Music because it has a small soundstage it will suck for Gaming too since the soundstage in the game will still be as shitty…

My Sony PlayStation headphones work very well on my PC but they are annoying when I have to charge them.

I got a deal on a “gaming headset” with analog audio and microphone. It seemed to work well until I discovered that all of my audio that was going to my headphones went through the mic. So people I was talking to through any voice channel like steam or Skype, they could hear the game at the same volume no matter if I set the headset volume to the highest or lowest. My only option was to lower the PC volume to about 25 so it ended up being low enough that it wasn’t getting picked up and I had to raise the volume to max on the headset. I believe it has something to do with the noise isolation of the headset.

For me my Roccat Kave XTD is a overkill its a real surround sound Headset with multiple Drivers and i choose the USB Version because i wanna use it on my laptop too and then there would be a problem with like 5 connectors.

ive tried many gaming headsets such as the g430, krakens, turtle beaches, and even the astro a40s.. but by far my favorite for gaming are my audio techincas ath m50x.
