the quest 2 has a crap field of view…… 110 is bare minimum 120-130 preferable……im sure 10s of people will by one at a 1000 bucks

This is soooo cool!!! 127g?!?! That’s literally lighter than a GoPro! (Just weighed mine at 153g) The whole housing AND facial interface are both pretty obviously 3D printed; they likely have a single parameter for IPD that gets adjusted in CAD for the main housing and then the face side gets fit to the scanned geometry. Beautiful design if I’ve reverse-engineered that correctly. Might look into this if I get more serious about VR content, but for now Quest Is Best (for me)!

This is sweet. I have wanted a PCVR headset but I think getting into PCVR with this will be too $$. They really should include a “generic” faceshield and a “no perscription” lens option.

I love vr, I’ve been here since the 1st dev kit. But I STILL can’t excuse spending more than 500 USD on something vr related. There’s nothing to do in vr currently, you can’t fully merge reality and vr to utilize irl tools in vr and vice versa. The game selection is meh. The social platforms are just overall awkward or hard to look at.
We are still in such an early stage, for no reason, considering how much money they charge for these headsets and the amount of people that own them. There’s no excuse for that outside of us being in a testing phase of sorts til a universal system for headsets is in place, similar to smartphones. So really, until we are out of that phase, and I can grab a AAA title on my pc and it just works in VR with nothing else that I need to load up, I’m just gonna let my quest 2 go obsolete and hold off xP

I’d actually sell my HP Reverb for this, it would require getting base stations but for the mainly racing and flying sims I do, it would be amazing

as a quest user since the first quest (r.i.p Q1) im really excited for that, but that price….the extra stuff….the pairing with computer (haven’t done yet) …..it would more then biting the bullet, it would be biting a heccing nuke.
this looks amazing, hopefully the prices for that will go down as time goes on

What is out there that we could use to make this wireless? I just can’t hook up now to the pc. I love being able to move without wires. Also, padded room helps.

It sounds good but kills the deal with no face and eye tracking… That’s really a huge deal breaker for 2023… It’s not worth upgrading from the index still…
