if it used memory foam or something similar, wouldn’t it be able to use a generic shape face without the need for the expensive face matching? then the face matching could be more of a commodity than something necessary to use it.
I really just want something like this to come out already… Something that is made for the masses though. A 500€ base station tracked wired pcvr hmd that isnt tailor made… Id be so happy
I sadly don’t get the almost 400€ difference in Price between USD and Europe. 100-200€ okay.. but that is sadly a big deal breaker xD
I had to stop listening after the “only one person can use it, but it’s no big deal, when was the last time somebody else used your headset?” part. That’s not *my* headset, that’s ours, with my wife. Just like we how don’t have multiple TVs, Playstations, we don’t have multiple headsets either. I would have never bought one just for myself, and I definitely won’t spend 2k on a set that both of can use again. I imagine bigger families are going to have to figure out which children of their they like enough and which don’t…
5 minutes in and I’m sold!
“Weird if they have the same face as you” “is not a shareable headset”
Bruh I have a twin. I’m not weird.
Bigscreen VR is getting Youtuber hype but it’s more expensive (need controller and base station) than the Quest Pro and Vive XR which use pancake lenses. It’s smaller because it has no eye tracking, hand tracking, no inside out tracking, no pass through, no ipd adjustments, no audio, stand alone, no controllers… Index owners, who are badly in need of an upgrade, are not going to like the FOV and audio. But I love BigScreen software.
Looks like a good device for identical twins.
Now that is cool. Why didn’t anyone think something you put over your eyes should be fitted for you?
You don’t buy adjustable contact lenses or glasses lenses do you?
Maybe not ready yet but I like this thinking.
Wired vr headsets are completely unacceptable I’m afraid to say. Not a chance will they win out for mass adoption. Absolutely no chance.
…but like you say at the end, it’s maybe not for that.
This is nearly perfect for what I want for AR to be honest, just throw the compute on your back in a backpack (or pockets/hips depending on the quality you are wanting). Only thing missing is AR video passthrough. Maybe something to be done with SimulaVRs work there!
So… better experience (res. & FOV) than the HTC Vive XR Elite? 🤔
not worth that money
Push the FOV and I’d cash out for it and base stations etc. And selling my Quest 2.
If this was wireless, I would buy it in a heartbeat. Hopefully there will be a 3rd party solution soon.
I’d be concerned about fogging of lenses with having such a good seal. I even saw in the video you stopped and they wiped them off. Do you know if it has any kind of ventilation or if it can be managed some how with a mod in facial interface or something?
i like the idea, and i think it is a good product, it brings some diversity to the vr landscape. something for you, and you only
i don’t think it could become the standard way of making vr headset, and i like it like that, it would be really cool if it was another type of headset you could choose from
this definitely seems like a pretty cool headset upgrade. I have base stations and use valve knuckles, and the headset I do use is apparently getting discontinued, the HP Reverb G2.
Something I would maybe want some info on though is what the actual FOV is for the headset, if it’s above what it says. As well as I think yeah it being wireless would be a pretty cool addition.
Is blue light a problem?
That is quite a price point, but sounds dope
