this is the first headset since the quest 2 im actually interested in, bit pricey but ive been wishing someone would make a good pcvr only headset

I still thought the Oculus CV1 was the most comfortable headset because of it’s weight. I’ve been using the Index for thousands of hours, yet I think it’s too heavy and that makes it uncomfortable after a few hours of vr dancing. I’ll probaly pre-order this headset! 🙂

This is really sick tech! But I can’t stomach that price for a wired HMD, sorry. I’ve built my own trackers with SlimeVR and I love how everything about my setup is modular and can be upgraded/replaced individually.

The headset I’m waiting for ideally has active inside-out tracking on the controllers, face tracking, IPD and WiFi 6E with AV1 encoding. That’s my holy grail for HMDs. Never will I go tethered again!

Only 90Hz, not able to share VR experience with friends, requires iphone for face scan, expensive. No thanks.

I just really wanna know how the microphone sounds on this, as excited as I am, I pray they put out something that sounds at least on par with the Index, if a little worse since I can’t imagine they’d be willing to setup a binaural microphone setup for something as small as this.

The fact that you’ve been helping them out for a long time to basically perfect this for index users who wanna upgrade, I cannot wait. genuinely. Now I didn’t see this mentioned anywhere but does this have a 3.5mm jack? or anything like that?

edit: nm thank you for forcing them to use a good mic.

i still use the Oculus CV1 with 4 base station. I wounder would this headset work with the controllers and base stations from CV1

This makes utter sense, “I figured people measured on their own and will also say, Hey! I got more, big part of our strategy is to underpromise and overdeliver”. What does that even mean??
And why are the screens taken out on the device that you received, if this is a review of a VR headset, what is the point of taking out the display. This is sus and I will definitely not spend a penny on a device made by a company taking these drastic measures to prevent reviewers to actually review the device before its being sold.
