Prescription lenses changes every 6-12 months ‘-‘
bro is gonna wear a mask his whole life
I like. I want.
1000 no way
Custom lenses?!
The biggest issue about vr for me is the weight of the headset and the fact that my glasses are necessary for me, but I find it really uncomfortable with my glasses on.
This negates my main issues and is the first time in awhile where I’m seriously interested in a headset.
Where’s your Pico 4 review at?
this would be perfect for me if only it had wireless 😩 I’m too used to wireless with the vive pro now. Still exciting tho.
A few questions Thrill. On the website it kinda looks like if you need prescription lenses then you have to buy them separately, or at least its an added cost. But the way you talked about it here made it sound like thats included in the cost of the headset. So I was just wondering if you could clarify this; are the prescription lenses included in the cost of the headset?
This looks absolutely wild. I really hope this comes with an eye tracking module in the future, so that we can use this headset with foveated rendering. Once we reach this resolution, I feel like foveated rendering is almost a necessity.
This is great and all, but with a price of $1000 and still needing base stations, along with some form of PCVR controllers, it’s already overshadowed by the Index and Quest 2/Pro.
The index may be bulky, but realistically it’s CHEAPER than a headset a 3rd of the size. I can get the FULL index kit with base stations for a grand. If you don’t already have base stations/controllers, then that’s another $400-$600, which by that point it’s price is right beside that of the Quest Pro, which is completely standalone and smaller than the Index.
I’m sorry but I see absolutely no benefits to buying or upgrading to this headset. You’re spending more for quite literally less. A small HMD with a custom interface and lenses doesn’t justify a $1k price tag.
Additionally, the fact you are forced to have it custom tailored to you is in my eyes a sleezy cash grab. By forcing consumers to spend more for things that they could just standardize (like every other headset), they will make more money over time. In fact, every SINGLE time a headset is sold, even PRIVATELY, they will still make money because the interface and lenses have to be refitted. This is all just a corporate ploy to make profit off of genuine enthusiasts who want the VR space to grow.
Tell them to make a modular phone case that extends battery life, then just USB cable connect this headset to the phone (which has WiFi) in your pocket.
“Isn’t shareable”
Not for you, but I have an identical twin, so it’ll be funny to see how that works if I get one
I love this concept but my prescription changes every now and then, and I cannot throw 1 grand at a headset every now and then.
come on I just bought my index xd
Me personally, I dont mind not having face or eye tracking, it’s not really necessary for me to have fun on vr, but I kinda wish that the price wast the same as the index, maybe put it at 800, no more no less, and I’ll consider buying it in the future. Also I dont have bay stations or the controllers, or a decent pc
I will probably keep the index for users. I have friends over a lot for beatsaber parties, blade and sorcery parties, keep talking and nobody explodes, just general VR stuff. Might get this one though for things like ChilloutVR where I know I’m the one going in and I’m going to be going in for several hours at a time.
4:19 Ok im sold
We already have PC, personal computer, and in the future you would have personal vr computer. Vr is already a very personal thing, not suprises there.
3:17 What the program is it? Always wanted the VR-program that can test screens (including FOV) and often seen different progs in videos but never could find them
Not a wide FoV? Does it allow wireless Wi-Fi e6?
