The high contrast ratio and the oled panel is also a major eyestrain. Your eye prescription won’t stay the same either, specially after using this headset.

After ruining 2 pairs of pretty expensive glasses in my existing headset, I’m SO ready for this unit! (I’m too far-sighted for contacts). The liberation of being able to SEE again (even if only in VR) without these glasses on my face will be immense! Bring it on! 🎉

I’m envious of that tiny form factor, super light weight and crazy display/lens combo but sadly I’m not in the target market for this.
I consider myself a VR enthusiast, but I draw the line at anything that isn’t inside out tracking. I do like to show peeps VR and take my headset about but I don’t want to own multiple HMDs just for that, plus I just flat out refuse to set up stuff in my room like lighthouses or cameras. I was annoyed enough at the camera just for the old PSVR back in the day, nevermind actually setting up a proper light house array 😛

Glad those that have already done the whole lighthouse thing will get to enjoy it though, and bigscreen throwing their hat in the arena is very welcome :3

I didn’t realize it had a mic in it. Now I wonder what the best option for audio would be.

Also the 90hz refresh rate is a pretty big step down from the 144hz I’m currently getting on my index.

small vr makes sense bc obviously it needs to get less heavy, but i dont think giving up fov/resolution is worth it being tiny for me tbh

Any company that can bring a product to the market and be profitable, no matter how niche, is important for an industry. It allows them to do more in the future and makes competitors expand their thinking of what can work. Most importantly, it seems these guys are really passionate, so that makes me hopeful. It sounds amazing but the lack of IPD adjustment (even if only in software) and wireless capabilities are deal breakers for me. I’d even be willing to pay a few hundred extra if it had those.
