So close but no inside out tracking… a no go. And I do sim racing and flying only.
if the FOV was about a spec sheet then that aint good, i’d rather it be accurate. as a promise its good tho but not measurements kek
It’s like taking a glimpse into the future with its compact design. Hopefully they can develop a wireless one (with decent battery life) for their next gen model
I like the idea, even using prescriptions lenses as a glasses user sounds great. But lack of eye tracking, which will eventually result in much better performance in VR, for this price is a no go for me. Pretty annoying that you need an Iphone to get a scan of your face as well.
Edit: Doesn’t the hp reverb have eye tracking and better field of view for the same or less cost? Having a hard time finding more info on it.
While it is definitely commendable and steps towards the right direction I still think this is overhyped/overrated as a PC VR headset. Every major VR creator is like “INDEX REPLACEMENT – SO AMAZING – SO COMFORTABLE etc etc” but….really? Index replacement? Massive downgrade to FOV compared to the Index (let alone Pimax) and 54 frames of downgrade to your refresh rate? Are you really so willing to throw these crucial things away for a micro-OLED panel? I definitely will not and can’t consider this over the Pimax Crystal especially if you factor in that the total cost of ownership of this (Base stations + Controllers) is actually much closer to the Crystal price (which is complete out of the box).
So overall: good try. Nice innovative ideas but its still a hard pass for me and I think many other PC VR enthusiasts. I want my high-end specs and if you are not gonna give them to me, you are not getting my money. If I wanted Quest 2 FOV on PC I could get that 3 years ago for much cheaper.
I’m not sure prescription lenses can working for complex prescription… And prescription lenses can be very expensive… My glasses are enough expensive I don’t want to buy lenses more…
While I like the idea – a few things they should work on or add for V2.. is its own controllers and tracking. While light house is good, its extra cost and setup now adays and I would assume there are better ways to go about this much like the Quest Pro controllers for example. While it might add a bit of bulk as well, I wouldnt mind some extra bulk for glasses though. I know they want to get custom lenses – but it would be nice to have the space for them at least. Also, they will be in the same boat, they will need to make it either an option or built in for eye tracking as well. Any headset releasing without it is going to have a hard time later when FOV needs to be increase.
You son of a bitch I’m trying to save money. I’m getting this.
I’m sold on it.
Take My Money!!🤑💵💵💸💸
crazy how a company that i use to watch YouTube with my friends from other states made a headset the size of my glasses
😀
It is perfect for what it proposes.
It’s a very good base for other models.
Welp I gotta save up for this now
Showing that it actually fits inside the Quest 2 11:08 might be the most convincing marketing for this thing yet.
This headset is appealing. But we need more headsets with eye tracking
There’s a lot going for this but the big drawbacks for me are that this will only work in a dedicated space and almost certainly won’t work on a Mac.
Looks nice but small FOV. We need to see the final production Big Screen Beyond and compare it to the final production Shiftall MeganeX. The only true replacement for the Valve Index is the Valve Deckard and a hefty dose of patience.
if this can realy fix my glasses problem it will be so cool, bcoz i hv over 10.00 on my both eyes
When your only need is the price tag and you’re ready for it
Can someone please tell me what’s on the nape of his shirt to hold the VR cord at 8:18? I really need something like because I hate how the Quest 2 cord rubs against my neck.
God Bless.
