I would definitly save up a grand and get this, but only if it came with tracking and controllers
This is cool, but completely off the table for me because I’m only 15 and I’m still growing and changing so I can’t really buy this even if I did have the money 😂
I feel like if the FOV was pushed a little bit further, maybe closer to 100°-115° FOV, as well as the ability to add custom inputs like eye tracking and face tracking (in the future, definitely not rn). This could be the start to an amazing way to make headsets.
Well that price just made this an instant nope for me.
Me staring at the statue flipping me off half the video: 👀👀👀👀👀
But is it tethered?
Yes!
And I’m outta heeeeeeeere…
This thing is gonna truly push the boundary for PCVR headsets, and I’m totally here for it. Personally it’ll be out of my price range or feature preferences to matter to me in this current iteration, but I’d love to see this with a slightest extra bulk later on wherein it’s then capable of working with inside-out tracking exclusively for PCVR. Overall I’m supremely looking forward to future headsets aiming for this kind of form factor.
All of you with Indexes that have been hungry for an HMD replacement are probably all ready to hop in though, which is amazing. Good point on “why tf do they need to be so bulky if it’s just for the PC?” lol
NEED NEEDDDDDD
Yay I’m early
damn. i own an oculus and a vive and this is the first headset i’ve really really wanted. if this is comfortable enough to wear for hours it could actually replace the displays i use for work
This is absolutely awesome. This is exactly the kind of thing I want. Extremely light weight. Extremely comfortable. Extremely compelling image. Let my PC do all the work like it was built for. This is the first VR headset that makes me think the dream of ditching all my monitors and working from home using a virtual desktop is legitimately possible and even desirable. My 3 monitor setup was easily about 1k. So spending 1k to replace 3 monitors with infinite monitors is pretty compelling.
Great innovation for VR. Hope they find enough people that won’t mind the downsides. If my index dies this makes sense compared to a new index, although I love it.
I’d get this as my next vr headset if i didn’t have to go from a to b every few days
I will buy a new headset once my Rift CV1 dies, and I will stay with PCVR. So good to keep this one in mind.
The first *personal* VR headset. Fixed IPD, custom face interface, custom lenses (as there’s no room for glasses)…
Requiring base stations is unfortunate for people who want to VR on the go with a laptop, and the lack of eye tracking. Can’t get everything!
I’m very excited that there’s finally a high res new pcvr headset but it does have allot of drawbacks for me at the 1000 dollar price point. Its gonna be around 2000 if I want to get 3 stations, valve controllers and nice enough headphones unless the audio strap they sell is actually good. I am very happy its not usb-c cause thats the worse. Its very hard to get into the base station tracked market rn
So your giving them your identity/facescan when you order for one wow
One massive issue for many is that a new Iphone is required to get the custom fit. For me personally, if I were to get it, I’d have to borrow a friend’s Iphone, since I have a Samsung…. If you don’t have access to that you’re SOL.
idk i would really like more fov. and the only thing i wanna change at the moment is my index controlers because of drift and that it could be build much better
im loving the neurofunk in the back
