The custom foam is a great idea, and I can’t wait to see it developed further. Sadly, I’ll have to wait until there is a wireless/inside out tracking solution. Living in a very small apartment makes VR difficult at times
I feel like the AI sound bar from razer would absolutely step this experience up another level.
I love that this is custom fit for your face and that it uses your eye prescription, AND it has a good mic, but everything else to me seems like a drawback. No face/eye tracking is a huge letdown. The price is a letdown, but it’s still very cool for those first 3 positives, hopefully one day they’ll be able to work in the trackers.
This is the next gen of headsets i think
Was excited till it required base stations, but also the over ear headphones means I can’t sleep in it without headphones or ear buds. And there’s no pocketable or built in wireless. If nofio does it probably going to be big and expensive like the index one. If the thing had cameras for GOOD hand tracking and self tracking, I’d totally buy one at this second.
I liked what i saw, but when you said it was from Bigscreen, my jaw dropped. I am unbelievably hyped about this headset
Holy s***. I am only at 4:30, but the idea of custom lenses is so amazing. As someone who has a hard time with VR sometimes because of my glasses, and I have a very strong prescription, this is an amazing feature.
Its been a while since ive been this hyped about vr hardware. I dont play vr chat though and havnt touched my index in like a year now. I really want to upgrade my index, but there is no vr game im really interested in playing right now.
That headset weighs about 1 cup of flour. Holy crap
Man, I hope they can manage to keep enough sales to keep this viable.
Even a lot of custom IEMs tend to raise in price, when they don’t retain the volume they were hoping for.
As I said to other that reviewed this
Cool BUT
1) custom made = no second hand market (you bringed it up)
2) only headset = I need to get the rest – more $
3) $999 just for headset = expencive now when we have Pico 4 and soon Quest3
4) custom made head straps = more $
Over all yeah cool but no not an option for me
I am incredibly excited for this. I have been waiting for some big PC VR news and this is it. I understand the fascination of wireless and the market for it but I don’t want my headset blacking out while I’m using it, and tethering it seems like it would defeat the purpose. I’ve been using a used original Vive for three years and it having finally kicked the bucket was considering my options. I don’t care how long I have to wait for this. I want this to be my next HMD.
No IPD is a big dealbreaker for me personally. I only play VR when my family is around and we pass the headset over. I guess my lil nephew has a smaller IPD ^^
But will Tuesday newsday actually be on a Tuesday
There is just no way I’m going to use any headset that keeps the cable. It has to be wireless.
This is a really cool concept, but there are a few things that I’d be expecting with that hefty price:
Gold-standard customer service. Peoples eyes and faces change throughout their lives, and I’d like to be able to see all my data in an easy-to-use interface. If I need a replacement, I’d like to be able to order it in a few clicks. This product is very bespoke, and I’d hope to feel more like a long-term client, than a short-term customer.
Why can’t there be hybrid functions like low graphics – to run as a desktop like experience for office work and then plug it into a monster machine to play games on?
Man this looks incredible! I can’t wait to see all the reviews out on this! Man I’d love to get my hands on one!
hit the nail on the head. we needed a pure pc plug in only headset made for enthusiasts for ages. i hope the next company to make a unit like this or for the bigscreen 2 to
increase fov a bit because then it sounds like it may be the perfect machine for me
Wow, the most ‘cyberpunk’ hmd to date!
