Definitely my next headset unless someone comes out with something better. The only downside is having to invest in base stations and controllers on top of the lenses (glasses wearing Reverb G2 user) All said and done it’ll be a $1500 investment most likely.
I thought maybe this would have save so much money given the form factor and only relying on your computer for everything, but I guess I was expecting too much. Oh well… It looked insteresting… Should had a cheaper alternative if they went that route.
Seems like an amazing VR experience, but unfortunately, it is more for the PIMAX user than the QUEST 2 user for the price
Looks amazing, nice to see the dry spell for PCVR is finally ending
can they make a standalone vr headset that has all the smarts in a “smart phone” sized pack that stores battery and computing with a cable running to it much like this one. The benefits of standalone while also being extremely light weight. I guess you can just use this and connect it to a nuc in your pocket
Big Screen is a pretty ironic name for a headset with less than 100 degrees. Pulling a Toyota and understating your own stats is a really dumb idea in this space IMO. On a different channel, I closed the video when they said sub 100 FOV and I’m guessing I’m not alone.
6:03 Whenever I have someone try my headset, I usually pick a multiplayer game of some kind and play together in the same room, me on my index and my +1 on my quest, unless it’s a singleplayer or paid game…
This is the move. I did not expect to see this much quality in such a tiny form headset arriving so soon, and it’s the most cyberpunk looking headset we’ve had yet.
I cannot express how much ive been waiting for something like this, like honestly, smallest comfiest headset ive ever seen. This honestly looks like it will rule the PC VR market, with the Vive XR Elite ruling the All-in-one VR market
I love that it fits inside the Quest2.
So this is why bigscreen has left their app to languish for the past several years? Seems like a good use of resources.
This might be my next headset. I wanted to only upgrade once there’s a really good wireless PCVR headset, but this might be the caveat.
Why doesn’t this company expand to more then Just exhausted over priced headsets?! The cost of customize is worst steps from going forward. It great news that a company is bypassing the standalone processor and simpler, but that = less components?! Don’t jack off the price and help free some consumers with basic.
This device is HUGE for Prototpying and concepting. Imagine how much more portable this becomes with a pocket PC like the Steam Deck. Massive. So excited for this.
THIS IS EXActly what i been wanting and talking about.. WHY would i want a laptop on my face… That is lower performance than my huge pc, when i could simpy have .. That.. This.. Small, light, cable or not.. I do want eye tracking though.. So close..
would i need a powerful pc to use the headset?
Shallow FOV and needs an Iphone that costs as much as the headset itself.
Massive pass
hopefully, if this succeeds, the other manufacturers realize there is a demand for these kinds of hmd’s
I really hope that they have a recycling program set up. From what I saw, that material isn’t likely to be recycled by the local waste recycling program.
This is the exact headset I’ve been waiting for since 2015! Ever since then I’ve been rockin’ the Vive 2.0, with a minor update to Index controllers a few years ago. I was originally considering upgrading to the Index headset just for higher resolution. But now that the Beyond is going to be a thing with lighter weight, better resolution, and mini-oled panels, my mind has been set. As soon as I have the funds, I’m preordering a Beyond! I can’t wait to see what Alyx, Beat Saber, No Man’s Sky, and we’ll, Bigscreen look like in 2.5k mini-oled! 😄
