Sounds interesting because I love to play PCVR games but sadly Quest 2 still better because I can see well on the Quest 2 and I don’t need more video quality resolution and I’m able to play wireless PCVR and not needs to be jucked up with a PC to play VR games from SteamVR.

That VR headset for me is the same as you trying to watch a video on 12K on a Laptop PC when the Maximum resolution on a Laptop PC are 1080p 60FPS, probably the clarity can look better because you are watching a 12K video compressed on a 1080p screen but is not necessary watch a video on that higher resolution.

I am SUPER down with this. Yeah I’d like the price to be a little lower, but I’m in this niche too, and I can talk myself into splurging. I personally don’t care at all about face/eye tracking, but the lack of audio would have been a big deal to me, if you hadn’t briefly shown that it will have an upgrade available for that. Hopefully not for a few hundred more. Or maybe there will be a way to mod existing Index audio to it….? I’ve said for a while all I really want out of an “index 2” is a super clarity upgrade and hopefully lighter, so this pretty much IS it. I don’t think the FOV will bother me, let’s hope that stays true when I “downgrade” from the index, which is the only headset I’ve ever used. “I wish I could see more to the edges” is not a thought that has ever crossed my mind when in VR, I’ve always felt fully immersed.

That said, I think they are SUPER effin up if they don’t also offer a stripped down, cheap(er) non-custom one. I don’t know how cheap they can get it, but something this small could be a KILLER “content consumption” device for casual users if they can get the price down low enough. Given that’s exactly what their VR app is for, it seems like a no-brainer to me.

I doubt this will take off. The developer can’t even fix bugs on their software. There are multiple people who can’t log in into Bigscreen and his response is either silence or to tell you that you have been banned… even when it is impossible that you’ve been banned, he still tells you that. The guy is amazing, really.

The Venn diagram doesn’t add up. Comfort, yes but price, resale and extras are non starters. Who are these made for? why not make these the cheapest VR glasses with the highest quality experience and no extras? Then it would make sense. I could custom the foam and lenses via third party myself. no freaking chance

I hope this isn’t like the arpara, which promised a lot, had functional prototypes. But has delayed their backer orders, dropped all communication and the weirdest part? THEY ARE SELLING FUNCTIONAL UNITS IN CHINA.

COOL So an Arpara that will actually come to market. Any comment on the audio strap if you’ve tested that? Will that be in the full review? I want to know if it comes close to Index/Reverb G2 audio.
