It seems like a cool idea, and the size of it is incredible. I might even consider it if I lived in a house with space. However, for me, it isn’t in the cards right now. I just don’t have the room for a full-room setup. Maybe one day, if they have a version with eye tracking, but not right now, and not for the price. I mean, I would have to purchase the whole setup!
FINALLY! an upgrade that is worth is for my HTC vive! I cant wait to spend my money!
Sounds amazing and I really hope it does well for Big Screen, but I’ll not be buying a headset with a lower FOV than my Index, no matter how good the picture quality is. Plus the lack of face or eye tracking its just not an upgrade, at least for my VR priorities. Tweak the FOV to be comparable to the Index and look into adding modules for face and eye tracking (in the future) and I’m throwing money at Big Screen.
i’m honestly super happy that this has been made, and i hope it has massive improvements over the years, and hopefully it kicks other companies into actually making native steamvr marker based tracked headsets again, all this inside out standalone malarkey is just pointless, we have powerful pc’s, we’re willing to spend the extra for GOOD fidelity, so give it to us, not the sub par standalone bricks that weigh a ton!
i’ll probably hold off for a while to see how some other headsets coming out are gonna perform, but if in future this thing gets slightly wider fov and a way to get one that doesn’t require an apple xr or newer phone? i’m completely interested and hyped to see where this leads the industry
one problem im gonna lose it 💀
yet you use affiliate links (on other vids)
I want this, but with the for of a pimax headset. anything below 120 fov just feels so so tiny. You cant move your eyes around at all, since you’d just end up seeing the black borders of the lenses and instead it forces you to constantly move your head around.
honestly as a consumer its great that we are getting a product that chooses to go in a new direction and takes full advantage of the pcvr market however as someone who owns a valve index and cant even imagine what those displays look like its clear why i more than likely never will with a price of £1149
yes i understand that its all custom and “made to be perfect” but in all honesty the extra money spent and how this will impact the 3rd party market will just never be worth it to me. so while i do hope big screen are successful or that their vision for pcvr catches on without a lower cost spec or a diy kit for those less financially fortunate i wouldn’t be suprised if this headset turns out to be a failed dream
Isn’t 90° × 93° a very small fov?
Why can’t i buy this in Russia… I just want a compact lightweight headset that will almost not be felt on my face, why can’t i have this… God, why……….. 😢😢😢
AND NOW question of the week:
Do you think in the future we’ll all have a beyond headset to replace all headsets and a steam deck mini computer to replace our PC and we can all have wireless pc and stand-alone VR?!
> It’s natively steam vr tracked
… This might be great two years after I get the job I want. For now, I’m still waiting to choose the best option between the things I want.
Will there be a wireless version? I can’t stand cables
This definitely seems like something I’d buy. I only have the quest currently, getting a PC soon so I can hook it up. This is an almost perfect thing for me, except that I need to buy controllers and basestations as well. Which I’m sure is worth it, I’m just iffy on setting up basestations for myself
What happens when my old prescription changes? It’s only built for you NOW.
This looks amazing I just wish I could try it before I buy it myself. I love how great the resolution sounds to be from you but fov is a big thing for me also so I would love to see how good it is
This looks so good.
But as someone without base stations or index controllers, having to buy all that and an additional 1000 dollars, means I am unfortunately not going to be getting one of these any time soon.
Super cool! I’m excited for this to push the industry forward to a point where I can afford it.
Mah, that price! 😀 But beside them it sounds more and more awesome the more videos I see over it. Especially also because it has a extra USB Port on it. Yeah, I also have this HTC Facial Tracker here, but using it with a headset without a PC USB port sucks. But I guess when I want to have it, it must wait until 2024. Actually I need money for a new graphic card and then maybe some PC upgrade as well to have also fun with the new VR stuff.
The face scan (which you can’t order without doing) requires an iPhone, and this is going to be a big problem for a lot of potential customers. On the website, they say, “If you do not own an iPhone, you can complete your 3D Face Scan by borrowing a friend’s iPhone or using an iPhone at an Apple Store”–but if you don’t know anyone who has an iPhone (me), or if you don’t live anywhere near an Apple store (also me), this presents an unnecessary obstacle just to be able to place an order. There really needs to be an alternative way to give them the information they need without an absolute hard iPhone requirement.
