Given today’s tech, this is what a headset SHOULD look like. I’m kinda embarrassed for everyone – not to be a dick – but for real – that this sort of thing is just now happening. Well, not even happening yet. 😢lol 😂
I mean, look at the damn iPhone.
Now someone needs to make one with the other bells and whistle one expects now-a-days.

The only one-up I see this having over the Index is the lenses and, for the same price as an Full-kit Index, I don’t think that one-up justifies the price, whether you already have the rest of the required bits or not

every VR headset should have eye tracking imo, considering the potontiel performance foveated rendering could have for any VR title.
The fact that this doesnt have that at this price is a massive waist

Damn, the custom stuff is a dealbreaker for me. We have one quest 2 in the house that is shared between 3 of the 5 household members.The ability for us to say _”Hey, look at this”_ is important.

Heck, when we played The Forest, my 9 yr old and I took turns playing. She would play when it was daylight and I would play when it was dark, because the dark scared her 😀

The underpromise thing kind of feels like a stupid move. If I don’t check I’ll just assume the specs are lower. Ideally specs are the no bs what this thing is of the product yk.

This will probably be what I’ll get as an upgrade to my Quest 2.
Might as well go all out and get some custom IEMs to go with it too.

The projected retail price of $1,000 is about what I expected …

Lowkey might pick this up with a pair of knuckles, rn I’m running a quest 2 with fbt and base stations so for 1200 bucks I see it as worth, I almost never use quest standalone so

dont care about face and eye tracking its just the fact the thing doesn’t have controllers and being so expensive i get most of my money on commissions for vrchat so thats a lot of money to drop for me but hey i might want this just wont have controllers for it

Besides the fact that it costs 1500+ for anyone without lighthouses, controllers or headphones, you must have an iPhone (no android app) to scan your face… so no thank you.
Also we likely won’t play anything at that native resolution without a 4090, so we need foveated rendering (eye tracking) for future proofing.

Wow so not only is it £1150, you don’t get the base stations or the controllers, and you need an iphone xr to get a face scan, and go to the opticians. I’m sure there’s people out there who know their eye perscription and have an iphone and already have a valve index and somehow have a spare £1200 in the current climate but not many do at all, which makes this literally the most dumb headset I have ever seen (And it doesn’t mention inside out tracking on the site but even with inside-out tracking it is still hugely over-priced for just a headset).

It sucks because I have been waiting so long for a PCVR only headset that’s affordable and decent and you hyped this product up so much. Then i look at the site with this joke of a headset. Also the conversion from USD to GBP is stupid. (999 usd to gbp atm is £823… It should not cost £350 to ship to the UK)

I want a normal pcvr headset. Why is a simple PCVR headset such an impossibility. My rift s is breaking now and i need an upgrade but there is nothing at all on the market to replace it with. Stop making top of the line, Stop making enthusiast, Stop making xr, Stop with the numerous silly startups trying to do niche little things that have no audience. I just want a new headset that is equivelent to the now 5 year old PCVR Rift S. Why is that so much to ask?

P.S. I also wouldn’t so annoyed about this if you hadn’t hyped the hell out of it in the thumbnail, title and first 5 minutes of the video like it was gonna be this awesome simple little PCVR headset.

I love your videos what you do for VR in general but this video and headset is all round an infuriating disappointment and now i’ve wasted 20 minutes cuz i’ve had to research this stupid headset and type this rambling comment which if i’m being honest, i hope to get some pay back by wasting a bit of your time too reading this.
