*sniff sniff* do i shmells ready player one type shit?
nice indepth video ! Intresting way how its made and that they are customizing it to your face.
This technology is actually insane !!
we can only imagine what VR will be like in 5 years from now
I’m happy that there’s some new innovation and development in the VR space, but for me as a (mainly) flight simmer, 90 degrees fov isn’t enough. The Varjo and G2 aren’t so heavy that something the size of this is a game changer. I won’t be buying one of these and I’ll stick with my Aero until something with equal or better resolution and more fov comes along
It might be hard to explain to my bank why I spend 999$ on 126g of plastic + base station
Do you know if full body tracking works? I don’t own a headset, but I am really tempted for this one!
I wonder how well this would work with a steam deck…
if i can keep using my CV1 controllers and trackers with this.. I’m gonna be saving up for this
Imagine a PCVR with no psychical IPD adjustment.
Cough cough. “Rift S”
This has me so excited
This is what I’ve been wanting for a long time. The price and custom structure per user is my only problem. Hope this furthers in the future. I’ll be keeping an eye for it.
while I probably won’t be buying one, this is THE next step for vr. Downsizing and comfort are HUGE issues for VR (outside Meta’s tyranny) and BIGSCREEN of all people are leading the charge!!! Things will only get smaller and cheaper and I can’t WAIT to see their progress in the future!
oh wow
Ok if I wasn’t already excited for the future of VR now I am because my God this is exciting
Well televisions used to be massive things then boom they started making bigger, flatter, better quality televisions so this is a similar revolution in vr and wowee it’s a game changer, back when I had my ps2 I said to my parents, there will come a day when the thing holding gaming back will be the television,if they can find a way to play games without needing a tv then games are going to get really amazing(I did imagine something like the holodeck in star trek but in a device about as big as a pc case but kind of mushroom shaped, that you put in the middle of the room, switch on and your room turns into a castle or a racetrack)vr gaming is truly something amazing now,in ten years it’s going to be mind boggling
It doesn’t need eye tracking/face tracking or a wider FOV right now, however, it would nice down the line, after they work all the kinks out over 1-2 years. have a “pro” version or a 2.0 that comes with wider FOV and a lightweight Eye tracking solution (as an optional add on), and lets you make use of exisiting face tracking, don’t develop their own.
Still wears a mask but then uses vr headsets that other people touch and use lol
Definitely keeping an eye on this. I went from a Quest 2 to an Index and it felt like a massive upgrade in everything except the lens glare, black level, and resolution. This would be a nice step up from there.
I mean if you’ve ever seen professional fpv goggles, you’ll see that this was super possible YEARS ago. My goggles that I daily drive cost $300 at purchasing, are as small as the ones shown, has 2 analog wireless receiver bays as well as 2 1080p screens along with head tracking, but for some reason I can’t get them to work with pc vr for the life of me.
Tbh valve index has a terrible build quality I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
