NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO 900 DOLLARSSSSS NOOOL, I MEAN ITS PROBABLY WORTH IT, LESS THAN 200GRAMS
would buy if i could use my rift controllers and sensors with it but buying extra controllers base station.. do i look bald?
I’m excited for this new headset, but honestly, unless the cost comes down a LOT, I’ll never end up getting one, because right now I use (and am not happy with) a Quest 2, and the only upgrades I qould want to pay for are ones that enhance my experience. Face and eye tracking, full body tracking, all things this new one doesn’t have. If I could get this new headset at a cost low enough that I COULD still get all those wanted upgrades, I would. But for a grand for less than I have now? That will prevent me buying the only things I still want to get.
While that’s the case for you, it won’t work in my household as *everyone* plays beatsaber and other VR games on the shared headset. We’ve all gotten good at adjusting IPD quickly to have a good experience.
Looking forward to the Index eye tracking mod video!
Always thought that the next PCVR Headset shouldn’t be more than 2 Citron’s in volume. Glad to see someone finally delivered
1400 and no controllers not for me, too much overhype, tbh it doesnt have anything special besides being small, if it was that small and standalone i would be surprised but honestly i think all headsets will be this small in the near future for way less and offer controllers
Wow the custom aspect of this is insane
i personally quite dislike the idea of having no adjustment, i don’t think you should be sending a head scan to a company to buy a product, for obvious privacy concerns, and the eye prescription is a big problem because many people have eye conditions that are still developing meaning those lenses will be rendered useless in a undetermined amount of time requiring you to buy new ones not only for your glasses but for your vr headset which could be expensive, to me that is a big point to improve, also like you said, sharing the device is a problem, but the idea of the headset is really amazing!
My sollution to this would be a generic option that has a general sized foam and adjustable lenses as an option, let the ppl who can or want have the costum fit one, but have the option for those who don’t, making everyone happier 🙂
If this concept became popular enough, I’d imagine a day when you could set filters for VR headsets that match your -prescription and- IPD when looking for used ones. lol
Or, a distributor could bulk purchase common -prescriptions+- IPD and use a basic all for one face cover. Though, now I think that sounds laughably impractable.
Edits: I just read the pinned update and now it sounds less impractable.
I am waiting for a PICO4 with dp, a PICO4 link.
DAMN JUST DAMN
Perfect! just what i’ve been looking for
I think they should make a v2 where it has customizable ipd and stuff and audio strap connected 👍
By the sounds of it I would love this headset, I have the gear to go with it, the only thing I feel like I’d be missing is the FOV, as I am used to using a Pimax now (originating from a CV1) which when I tested out again, I describe as “looking through a pringles can”
ty for denying the ref link, really like the gesture
The fact that it costs 999$ for the US and 1.369,00€ for me is… Yeah there’s no way I can upgrade ^^’ that is like half the price of a second one extra I’d have to pay. Idk if it has to do with inflation but man… thas not affordable xD
Not even five minutes into the video I preordered one! This is amazing!
As a Varjo Aero user, I am going to be watching this full review as a potential buyer. I will be more interested in the QoL portion, as Varjo’s sucks. The Aero is still not a finished product in my eyes, requires a connection to Varjo’s server 24/7, and has pretty garbage contrast. I love the image quality, but I feel like my experience just isn’t that enjoyable on the Aero versus my Index.
