Take the mask off! 🤦🏻
I could understand if it was 100$, but it feels like they could do a lot better for 1,000$
This or Megane X or Aero, whats better?
I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE SO BAD…I play Bigscreen like twice a week and the index definitely weights on you while watching movies. Really cool to see a company I love making a headset that has been needed for along time!
While this looks great, I think I’ll hold off on buying one until a headset with similar specs but a larger FOV comes out.
Would love to get it but its 1,4k € and thats sadly way to much for me for just the headset
Can’t wait for this
Would be great to combo with quest pro controllers for sculpting in VR
For 1000 bucks, you get incredible displays, outstanding form factor and comfort, Index-quality microphone, and the wonderful luxury of Steam LH Tracking. Truly the best of the best.
For 1000 bucks, you’re missing controllers, audio, a top strap for more support, and you don’t get any base stations, either. The FOV is merely Quest 2 levels, which is disappointingly below average for the standard other PCVR headsets have set. You need to have an iPhone capable of mapping a 3D view of your face, which the majority of VR users don’t have.
The features you get are truly unbelievable, but the amount of drawbacks are crushing. It doesn’t feel worth 1000 dollars to me, and it doesn’t match the Index’s overall quality to upgrade.
The low FOV was really a turn-off for me right off the bat. I’ve been spoiled by the Index; anything less than 100 FOV is just too narrow. FOV is extremely important to me as an Index user, but if you can look past the below-average FOV, and the requirement to have a super recent iPhone capable of face mapping, this is absolutely a worthy contender for an Index replacement.
For those of you that are just getting into VR? Maybe wait until it gets cheaper. It’s not VR ready out of the box, and for 1000 dollars, that won’t seem worth it for people without existing hardware.
if they put inside out tracking then ill buy it
cool but for a 1000$ ill wait for the next gen version of this, if im getting something for more immersion it should have equal to higher fov as the index and eye tracking
And people say PSVR 2 is expensive because you need the PS 5 with it😂. This looks sweet though. If you want great vr, be willing to save up for it.
Only issue… Everyone in the teenage audience will never buy this simply because they would have to buy a whole new headset every time their size dramatically changes
THRILL I love the shirt (and video ofc)
also its comical you mention the used market, I was commenting on brad’s video about how in the world reselling would work.
and was going to wait to see if someone would put the htc vive face tracker on it too, as you showed lol
The headset really does look amazing, it really does. But until I see the full review video, if I was going to spend $999 for just one headset. I’d honestly rather get the full steam Valve kit at nearly the same price. Don’t get me wrong the tremendous upgrade from switching my quest 2 to using this headset from Big Screen would be the size and the weight and that is something I would totally look forward to. But thats just my opinion. I’m really excited to see the full review hopefully soon!
I’ve been wanting something exactly like this (though wireless would be nice) for my racing sim setup. I’m glad you posted a video about this because I likely wouldn’t have ever seen it.
HOOOOLLYY SHIIIIT!!!
I remember you said replacing the valve index with pimax headset and you made a video dropping the index in the trash, but you didn’t, i don’t think you will replace your index because valve index is stucked in your head, we want to see better headset in everything, you are always making awesome video which make people happy, i hope you have a good day
Wow, that’s a very hard sell… :/
This kind of form factor can open up the possibility of making a very cheap headset. No need to invest in tracking since it’s all been made already, no need to invest in battery optimization or processing, just use a cheap cable. Just put cheap screens and simple lenses on a tiny, internally minimal form factor with a simple and cheap facial interface and you’ll have a true entry level for PCVR.
Because I’ll never understand why PCVR has to be literally unbuyably expensive for so many people. You have no idea of how many people I’ve shown VR on the CV1. It basically sells itself.
I seriously hope the pricetag covers everything and that bigscreen doesn’t lose any money on this, because i can’t see it being a big hit at all. Not even inside of the niche of the niche it’s trying to market.
damn it sounds so cool but i wish the fov was bigger
