For a Grand, I expect the Mic to be decent; also the Low refresh rate is kinda harsh.
Even for standalone VR, I’ve always wondered why no one just makes a headset like this with a cord that goes down to a belt mounted computing and battery unit. I wonder if you could make a mini PC that would work with this
My identical twin and I don’t have an issue with the custom-made face gasket.
halfway into the video and I’m already out >>>((( FINAL SCORE AT THE END)) <<<< ....small >> pro (2 point ) …. relay on base stations >>CON ( -5 points ) … No IPD adjustment >> Con (-2 point ) …. price : 999$ (or 3 x Quest 2 ) No processor or ram or battery and doesn’t come with any base station or hand controllers >> Con(-999 points) …ITS A FKIN RIPOFF I’m OUT >>> … Cant even sell it because it has my eye description? …. why am I still listening >> CON ( -100) ….. The best screen in the market .. ok ( +50 points ) … I hate the cable and quest 2 lasts for 1-2 h which is more than enough >> CON ( -5 points ) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> FINAL SCORE : -1,049 , Tell big screen you can shove it where the sun doesn’t shine LMAO!
finally this is the most promising headset ever.. I’ve always wanted the smallest headset because I hate getting headaches and I don’t even care about wireless headsets.. i still use the rift s but I still dislike the weight so I decided not to upgrade so I can’t wait to grab one of these
but its unfortunately so much money that I’ll probably never get my hands on one of these for a couple years
90 fov is very meh for something so custom made intended for prolonged use
They need to market this to flight/race sims!
id love this for gaming but the cost to get lighthouse controllers and its wired… but for sims, I probably would tbh
I literally woke up, saw the announcement, saw it had DisplayPort, Lighthouse, and OLED pancakes, and slammed ‘pre-order’.
It’s that easy folks
I love your first experience with OLED, it was like mine when my buddy had shown me his OLED monitor and it was amazing because the pixels turn off when it comes to the blacks. I’ve been waiting for VR headsets to use OLED screens.
1000$ and less FOV than the Index? Thats gonna be a hard pass for me
Yeah, this is what I’ve been hoping for. This form factor. Now if they could just make a wearable slightly more powerful quest-like system and add slam tracking in that small form factor I’d be overjoyed.
I’m tempted to get it but the lack of inside out tracking is practically a deal breaker for me. And the price is… a lot.
I think I’ll be looking at the pimax I heard about.
HMD’s really should be including eye tracking. It’s essential for good foveated rendering. Red Matter on the quest Pro is night and day difference when you use ETFR.
I’m gonna be honest, it doesnt have any of the stuff i’ve been excited about (eye trakcing & wireless), but this is probably the first PCVR heads4et i’ve been very interested in for a looong time. I could see it being my daily driver and switch to my other headsets whenever i want eye tracking or wireless. I’ll be looking forward to more info and news about it from you
I do share my vr with people fairly often so I think I’m still looking at the xr elite as my next headset.
Dude, it is time to take off the mask. Even if you had no lips we would still love you.
I mean technically you could resell them to anyone with the same IPD and they’d just need to print a new cushion right
I really love the concept, minimum tech if the pc is already gonna do the work. Maybe a cheap version with inside out tracking, controllers and headset with ipd adjustment meant only for pcvr could compete. Slap a 350-450$ price tag and good to go. However i cant help but feel its not gonna do numbers, and im sure the company is ready for it. Its just such a small niche, people who are already into vr with kits like index ready to drop 1k for this, its lacking so meany features aswell, i wish they made a version for timmy with a pc that can compete with q2. Im happy bigscreen is in the market tho. I wish success for their future headsets.
Nice, but at $1800AUD, I would like to see some more community reviews before ordering.
Didn’t mention audio at all – does it have speakers at all?
