I want to be excited for this but I’m extremely upset that they decided to put the customization of the headset behind the ownership of an iPhone. I hate Apple and I will never buy another one of their phones. I can’t support Apple, and I won’t support a company that puts their product behind the wall of owning an iPhone.

I would absolutely buy one if not for that.

Another reviewer made mention of the lower FOV (which is the ONLY thing I am looking for to make an upgrade).. and I wrote this off. The way you explain FOV though makes me second guess my initial reaction. Now I’m wondering.. do I take that plunge.. I could care less at the moment about face and eye tracking. Heck, I have 7 trackers I haven’t used in over a year. Is this what I’ve been waiting for to finally upgrade from my Vive Pro…

This is probably my biggest turn off for vr, the weight of all the headsets. cuz it crushes your hair and gives me a headache and hurts my neck if i have to look around at high speeds

This would be perfect for me if it as just a little cheaper

I’ve certainly been looking forward to headset like this, that being said I find it really unfortunate that the audio headstrap is a separate $100 dollar add-on and isn’t included with the full package, especially for the price. Between the price and that smaller fov I’m sadly gonna pass this one up for now.

Im concerned about whether they keep your prescription info. I do like how there is no eye tracking or face tracking, I really do not care for VR companies, or games to be collecting that info from me. Overall, seems like a really good device for more privacy focused people who dont want to deal with the shenanigans big VR companies pull with collecting biometric data, even if it is a bit on the more expensive side.

So a headset that you can’t resell and can’t share comfortably that’s $1000 which you have to use your own pc assuming you have one that can run vr good if not you’ll have to drop another 1/1.5k at least then you have to buy or own nice compatible controllers 😂 this is yet another rich persons toy not a normal vr consumers everyday headset

I’m just going to say, if they want to make the case customized for every person, they’re going to have to make this modular so you can upgrade it and not have to buy a new customized case when a new model realses. That might make it worth it for more people.

Sounds great. I don’t care that the FOV and is quest-level and there’s no modularity, since I’ve been using the quest platform since 2020. The only thing that really puts me off is the price.

I dont think the customization is that big of a problem.
They could easily make a standard face cushion and offer lenses without prescription for those that dont want / need it customized for different reasons like maybe resell value.
