The realistic price tag being around $1500 for someone really wanting an upgrade from a Quest 2 (like myself) is really steep for the same FOV, but I am still very temped. I have been waiting for something new in the Valve Index class so I can justify an upgrade and this maybe it for me especially as someone with glasses. If I can afford the hefty price tag around when it come out, I will definitely be getting this.
neato overall, threw a like in entirely for the wholesome dance at the end.
I’d get it 100% if it didn’t need base stations
Holy flip. If I had the money right now I would drop it on this. I used to wear glasses when I first got into VR, but I wouldn’t wear glasses with the headset cause I didn’t want to scratch the lenses and ruin something good. At the time I figured “I’m near sighted and technically the lenses are near my eyes, it should be fine”, and true I did see better in VR than I did IRL without the glasses, but it wasn’t much of an improvement, and it may have been a placebo effect. Then one just before I went in for my regular checkup I realized one of my friends uses contact lenses and asked them about it. From there I asked my doc about them as an option and tried them and loved it because no longer was I needing to fiddle with glasses that could get lost or misplaced during the day, and my vision in VR improved as well to which it clicked for me, “oh that makes sense, it would be made for people with normal vision”.
With this I might go back to wearing glasses semi regularly, or be taking my contacts out for VR, cause if I can have normal vision in VR with it being light I would be so happy and it would be such an improvement. I am currently using the Index and it has been real good to me, but sometimes I feel it is a bit heavy.
literally my favorite news reporter there is no one better
this shiz looks like i could wear it and people would say nice glasses
You also missed a quite important point, someone’s eyes might get better or worse over the course of a year or two, which might mean that the prescription lenses that they had at the time of buying the device will no longer be a good match.
Seems good, but the cable is a no-go for me. Wireless or not at all.
too expensive
Wait throw on eye tracking….
This is what I’ve been looking for!
I have a pcvr ready pc and want to experience SIM racing in vr.
This super light headset, that would let my pc handle the work sounds perfect.
This is great
This would be so comfortable and great to play Echo VR on!
This looks like the best upgrade for anyone currently in vr but is definitely not for someone trying to get into vr
Best outro yet! i be vibin!
The fov is a big no go on this one, i hated the hp reverb g2 because of the small fov
ok, so if i have the aero, i am ok??
Hope ya’ll like the end.
A quick correction! The prescription lenses are actually magnetic! So.. if you need a prescription change you just swap out the magnetic lens part.
NOICE.

I’m personally more satisfied that they cosidered resale of the device. Being able to go through all of their services but not buy a actual headset is a win in my books. But the more expensive that is, the less valuable the actual headset becomes, so it HAS to be balanced to succeed.
All I want is for valve to get a quest competitor out T.T
