Just buy a vertical stand which included extra usb slots instead of using the PS5 console
Its the opposite for me. The problems come from me putting in the front opposed to the back
My rear ports are too busy, so the headset has always been in the front.
Good info though.
Spend a little money, get yourself a nice USB C hub. Bonus would be connecting your mouse and keyboard for games that support it and not facing issues like this.
I didn’t even know that there is a rear dongles, I’ve been switching between the charging cable and the headset USB🤦
wish they would bring back bass impact
Why didnt sony just make it built in bluetooth?
That’s been happening since the ps4 lol
I’m getting one for Bose quiet comfort
My Playstation is connected to my speaker which can do bloutooth audio, and all controllable with my smartphone 😉 I love tech
Steelseries Arctis 1 wireless has a type-c dongle that practically disappears on the front and has no connection issues 👌
Absolutely do this for the ps4 gold/platinum dongles. Those get hot even in the best circumstances.
Why a playstation needs a dongle to use a headset when it has Bluetooth is just dumb
Hey, just for once I knew about this, in fact I think it’s recommended in the Pulse manual that you use the front port. I was just wondering today why I plugged it in there and this video popped up and reminded me! Neat!
Anyone having issues with Sony headphones not charging in rest mode ? Headphone charging light shuts off after about 5 seconds.
As a PS5 and Pulse 3D user, I can confirm this. I used the back USB ports in the beginning but I had connectivity and sound issues. I was worried that I had a faulty unit but when I checked the USB dongle, it was so warm that I immediately moved it to the front USB port and having no issues since then.
I guess the speed of the port isn’t in question? It’s just a problem caused by the heat? If it is a bandwidth issue then the single USB-A on the front isn’t a superspeed 10GBit/s port like all the others. The mini USB-C on the front apparently is (like the two rear USB-As which are superspeed 10GBit/s ports) so if you’re concerned over heat *and* speed perhaps a USB-A to C adaptor could solve both those problems.
This is a stupid problem to have, because the official Sony Pulse headset should be able to connect to the PS5 without the damn dongle!
Buy a USB extension cable and plug it into the back and it will keep the dongle out of the heat
i’ve had my ps5 since launch and plugged my dongle in the back since day 1 and never had any issues . but i have a wide open area in the back
