I plugged it in the back initially for aesthetic reasons. But I began to notice crackling and signal drops. Moved it to the front…. No issues at all. Never thought about the heat.

I’ve always plugged my pulse in the front. Just too lazy to plug in back because its stored inside the tv cabinet. Now i know i made the right decision

I don’t use the dongle at all, I just plug the wireless headset directly into the dual sense controller.

Why not just use a USB extension cable? connect the cable at the back keep the dongle somewhere it doesn’t get in the way.

I found they always have random audio dropouts on ps4 and also on ps5 wich is so flipping annoying. Even when plugged into the front or into the tv itself. And i have had both ps gold headset variants. Thats why i did not upgrade to the newer headsets yet.

Can’t say I ever thought this could be an issue but lucky for me I’m mad lazy so I’ve always had it at the front anyway 😃

Edit: Ever since I got the PS5 I have been wanting to put the USB in the back just for aesthetic purposes but fortunately for me I’m too lazy 🙃

Haha i just got mine. 7/25/22 late afternoon. I connect the usb to the back of the system. When I get home I will swap it to the front.

If your using wireless and plugging it into your console just use wired headphones into the controller.

My problem was the opposite. I kept losing audio and it was super annoying. Once I plugged it into the back it worked perfect.

Just buy a USB 3 pig tail to get the dongle away from the exhaust, having a dongle in the front will probably result in a snapped tab inside the port the first time someone brushed against it when walking by.
