Ever since my Sony Platinum headphones stopped charging, even after I put in a brand new battery, I have been using my Sony WH-1000XM4s via my C1 tv’s bluetooth.
Now I do not need a dongle and the sound is great.

The REAL big problem with the Pulse 3D dongle is that Sony doesn’t offer replacements whatsoever. Lost mine when we moved last year now I have this paperweight headset…

Since I bought 3d pulse back in April 2021 I plugged the dongle in the front port cause I thought “it might get hot back here”. When I saw the video just now, sitting comfortably on my couch, I thought I was doing the wrong thing having it on the front port and I was like “oh please don’t make me move now”. Thank god I was correct this whole time 😌😂

Tbh I just connect ma AirPods Pro to ma phone, and then Remote Play into ma PS5. Best audio quality with occasional but not usual lag

I think I saw somewhere an instruction that said that audio things should be plugged to the front USB… Don’t remember where I saw it but I’ve been using that port ever since

I had a similar situation where my PS5 heated up so much in the back that the headsets dongle casing slides rite off now. I can literally slide the dongle case off and expose the chip inside.

My front usb literally doesn’t work for anything except charging stuff. I got new controllers and I had to plug the cable to the back for them to sync, but they’ll charge just fine in the front. I’ve been using the back ones and now even have both being used for two headsets and no issues.

I didn’t have issues with heat having the dongle in the back, it was having a USB hard drive plugged into the back at the same time that caused the connection to cut out.

I personally rarely used headphones. Never comfortable enough and best pair I could use an hour before my ears hurt. Very long story and journey for me and even using anything for earbuds to headsets! Living arrangements have changed how I can use or play my games. I started using an old pair of 3.5mm earbuds. Series x and ps5 have the 3.5.mm jack on their controllers. I feel blown away! New favorite word, immersion. Just wow. I have revisited tons if games in the last week! I have a high end tv and high end surround sound system. It sounds fantastic. However, this becomes so personal and I was completely blown away! This new journey trying to find finally the right headset that doesn’t hurt or squeeze my ears off…the price. Omfg. The pair that fit the best and sounded the best was $200-350! Anyways. I bought the turtle beach 700 stealth max. Top rated 5 on many sites. Arctic 9 pro if I got that right was number one. Well how these got top 5 beats me. The volume was piss poor! To put it lightly! As if they are stuck on 50-60% max volume. Updated them and even used the app to slide up all settings to 100%! Still wasn’t loud enough. Yes I went into the xbox settings and turned up volume to max! Same with ps5! Everything was 100%! Everyone said headphones smoke earbuds and tons of reading I would agree. I was torn. The immersion, and or realism was so good. Some games with atmos or 3d sound just…wow…top notch! This revolutionized my gaming experience…again! I have 20-20 vision and great hearing. I googled the low volume issue and was surprised to read gaming headphones are commonly known to be lower set with their volumes. Ridiculous isn’t a word to be used here. This model especially had people complaining the volume was to low. I even followed their instructions on a possible fix. Oddly enough the fix worked for connected to my phone! However I bought this for consoles…not my phone! I was torn cause I loved and enjoyed what quality I was receiving! Demon’s souls remake ps5. Just wow! Then something happened that made me return these high dollar headsets. I found many old pairs of headphones, earbuds…I kept plugging and playing. For the price and top 5 rating there should be no competition! My 20…20…again…20 year old Sony earmuffs style headset was louder, and the bass…put it in numbers. The $200 t.b. as far as realism was 20%-30 better then 20 year old sony headset. Sony 20 year old reached the volume and bass I love! 20yr beat $200 for volume and bass. I could hear things more clearly. However I loved the $200 cause of realism and immersion. Then I used a 5 year old sony earbud set and that’s when I returned the t.b. they were even closer to sounding almost as good as these $200! That should not be even possible! That’s ridiculous. If I was an Audiophile I would understand and pay the extra money. Then the other headset I almost exchanged for came with an amp! That’s what the best buy rep told me to do! I said what!? The headphone amp was $50-100. I refused! For this price they should be better! Was it me? Being older? I had my son who is 16 and somewhat of an audiophile check em out. Had old and new gen relatives and friends listen. All agreed volume to low! So I have purchased 20 different buds to headsets in the last week! My living quarters won’t work well with all the extra connections for the headphone amp. Like a splitter-adapter. Connect the 3.5mm to amp then amp to console. Ok for computer desk but not for my room. I saw sony had a $49.99 exbass earbuds. The numbers were higher then all the buds I found. The db, frequency or hz. Skeptical and also I never spend this much on buds! I was blown away! Wow. I found the right set. They work to good and smoke the $200 pair! The realism and sounds are %10 less then the $200 t.b. but many people won’t notice this! Then they went on sale yesterday and I got a refund for difference so grand total was $29.99! 1000s of purchases and almost 5 star rating! T.b. $200 has a 4 star rating. I see why. I can’t believe these buds sound this good and why nobody uses buds for gaming!? The sony set everyone says is badass and only $99. They get uncomfortable for me and I can’t wear em but under an hour. I tried getting used to em. Why I got the t.b. cause they also worked for sony ps5! Again volume was to low! The clarity, volume, all the above and most important, comfort factor…these buds gave those $99 sony set a run for their money! The sounds are great and I see why people love using these sony headsets for ps5. I feel they also are cheaply made. Not even 3 months and my sons pair are falling apart. The earmuffs deteriorated and I used warranty to replace them. He loves em. Also I rarely use the USB on back of consoles. Easier upfront. Easier access where I have the consoles set up. I never had any issues. Surprised he mentioned it mattered what usb you plug to actually. only the blue colored one matters for transfer rate. Anyways that’s my long story and adventure and how I randomly ended up getting and now use earbuds for everything!

I have the pulse 3d headset’s dongle attached in the back of the ps5, never had a single issue even this days that there are 36 C° outside and the console becomes really hot after an hour of playing; I used it this afternoon while playing at demon slayer (I used the console for 2/3 hours before, switching between the game and netflix so it was really hot) because one of my friends invited me in a party and for 30 minutes (the time I stayed in the party) it never dropped the audio quality or has lost the signal
