I had controller issues (intermittend lag) while having a BT dongle in the front USB-C port (Creative BT-W3). When I removed the dongle the lag was gone.
I thought this was gonna be about being able to use USB drives to save game files on!
Nice tip… but for me, no matter where I put, the pulse 3D audio isn’t good enough… I only say that because I also have the Xbox Wireless Headset to compare… which is amazing, on xbox via wireless or on pc via usb it delivers a great spatial audio in games….
With PS5 I stoped to use the Pulse 3D only because the comparison I can’t ignore! 😉
Or just get a dirt cheap USB extension cable and keep it out of sight. My dongle is on a cable shoved behind my cabinet and it never overheats or has any connection issues.
Front for charging and headset. Rear for external
I always thought that having USB ports that close to an exhaust vent was a bad idea…
Ive had the dongle for the pulse 3d headset plugged into the back of my ps5 for months with no problems at all
It literally tells you this in the instructions.
I had the dongle plugged in the back and the heat affected my sound quality and connection, I bought a cable off amazon to move the dongle further away from the console and it worked a treat!!
Ive actually never plugged it in the back..
I need your help and hope you could. It’s about the ps5 CONFIRM and CANCEL buttons. I’m used to the Japanese settings where CIRCLE is for confirm and X is for Cancel. when I finally got my ps5, I accidentally set my X button as the confirm button and circle for cancel button. How can I fix this?
I experienced that issue when I plugged the dongle at the back port. Then I purchased USB adapter 90° angled to the top so it doesn’t block the usb c port. Problem solved!!
I so despise you for your bait titles…
Hey Jonathan . I’ve been wondering if Sony will add an update soon that will allow us to disable auto latency Mode which forces me to play on game picture mode. Do you think Sony would come up with an update soon for this fix which makes the display look dull. Thanks hope you reply
i just stuck with astro A10s because wireless was always a problem. concept is great it just doesn’t work for me ig
i will totally try this! oh wait… i dont even have a PS5…
I tried wireless but I just can’t play that way. The maximum volume while connected through a dongle is so low, while the volume can be much higher when connected trough the audio jack in the controller. And I’m not even talking about a ‘bad for your ears’ high volume, maximum volume through the dongle is just really low and there doesn’t seem to be a solution to it
I have the SteelSeries Arctis 7 wireless and they don’t use a traditional dongle they use a puck that I put closer to where I’m sitting so the mic and audio quality is pristine, I highly recommend them
I’d think most people would use it in the front because you have easier access to it. Just makes more sense.
As a long-time PC gamer, one of my go-to troubleshooting methods for USB is to try a different port. Also, always have the dongle on the same side of the machine to where you’re using it. I once had to run a USB extender cord so my dongle could detect my mouse reliably.
