I used to plug the PS5 Pulse 3D usb at the back port as well. However, i changed my mind and started plugging it on the front after the USB became very hot while being plug at the rear after playing for 3 hours of Elden Ring. Thankfully, i didn’t experience any audio problems . I might test it again if it’s always like that. At the same time, got to do some system cleaning to improve the airflow.

I recommend cord to controller. The USB ports and hdmi ports are super easy to disconnect from the actual board.

I figured this out the first time I used the headset, wanted to disconnect it the dongle to put an external drive and it was way too hot to be there, from that day on it goes on the front

You should be able to use a short usb extension from the back and put it to the side of the console.

Why don’t they just make them without the dongle? Is it just a PS thing, cause the Xbox series S/X has them without it. At least with all my turtle beach models I’ve had on Xbox just connects right to the system.

Lmao if you have your system at a monitor you would, with common sense, put your headset in front for easy swaps. Being the one thing you only need on a game to game basis, you can use external speakers if you don’t need chat so you have an easy access USB port.

If you have a full set up with lights and mouse n key, you’ll have a dongle to put the headset in to not be near the vents anyways

I don’t understand why they not make possible to connect via Bluetooth without a dongle. I mean it’s a proprietary headset and the console have Bluetooth.

I’ve always had it in the front, tried it at the back at launch and noticed audio drops in and out, since having it at the front I’ve had no issues

Well that answers one of my questions. Was wondering if i would still need my 3rd party bt dongle on ps5. Hopefully the UGREEN dongle i’m using on my ps4 will work on the ps5.

I’ll try the back first since i’ll most likely use a dust cover (can’t use it if something connected on the front).

2020 and still need dongles for headsets. Should just let them connect via Bluetooth.

I bought a Logitech wireless for my PS5. Works a treat. I plugged in through the front. I did get (thankfully) 2 USBc-A convertors to plug it in the front. Even though I moved the PS5 and told my wife to watch it, she still managed to bend the USB convertor on the second day of owning it when she cleaned. Grrrrrr
