I just got these today for Fathers Day. Previously I had the QC 35ll but spilt water on them – immediate death.
For the price, I think Bose need to make these headphones more waterproof.
Great headphones but some kind of waterproofing needs to be added.
I read David’s recent review of the best headphones for calls on a cell phone. After trying the Bose QC45 while in Best Buy, the call quality is terrible. By contrast the call quality with the Sony XM5 is very good. The QC45 block out zero extraneous noise while on calls.
My top 3 desired features were:
(1) real buttons
(2) comfort
(3) multipoint Bluetooth pairing
So I bought the Bose QC45!
do you what kind of headphones that can be headphone and can be speaker,?
Great review!
i had my bose qc35ii for 2 and a half years, then the left ear became faulty and i used the warranty. John Lewis said that they dont make bose qc 35ii so they are going to give me a pair of qc45. lucky me
You look professional at a job with the qc35s
These Bose Wuietcomfort 45 headphones can not be recommended to anybody, who has sensitive ears and who happens to like classical music. There is nothing wrong with the sound of them as such, but there is a continuous noise at the backgroud, that disturbs the listening experience. It is propably due to the silencing technology, that produces signals all the time. Very big disappointment. Only some big orchestral works are listenable, when the backgroud noise is not so disturbing. Loose of money for a customer like me.
If you already have QC 35 or Sony, there isn’t enough of an improvement to warrant an upgrade. Great choice if you’re in the market.
I have owned the 35 for year’s and probably use them more then the common person would… Loved them until the point I wore them and the cushion and ear cups came out.. Just bought 45’s at Costco with $80 off excited you be back in the game.. All of my headphones and speakers I own are Bose.. Hard to beat there quality.
What music are you playing in the background? They are all really good.
……The bose QuietComfort 45 has great noise cancellation but in general the Sony 1000XM5 is better check out…short product review Sony 1000XM5 vs Bose QuietComfort 45
Best rev. I can find
No interest in noise cancelling. QC 45 are very comfortable- Tried them on at Best Buy after regrettable purchase of vice like Sennheiser cans earlier- UGH. After comfort aspect, Bose strikes out BIG time. Noise cancelling actually exacerbates the overwhelming bass output, which cannot be mitigated- due to lack of much needed EQ. Not trying to be funny, but i much prefer my $10 Sony ear buds for listening to music.
This Panasonic Technics A800 has very good sound and ANC and it’s general volume and bass volume is much stronger and powerfull compared to Sony MX4 or Bose QC45. But to listen my favorite music genre electronic music and techno i prefer to use the Panasonic RB-M700B because they have somethning the A800 and other expensive head phones on the market does not have at the moment: A Bass reactor vibration system ! I really love the bass reactor vibration system very very very much !!!! It feels like you have a 2.1 subwoofer hifi system. Panasonic Technics A800, Sony MX4, Sony WHXB910N, Bose QC45 feels more like an 2.0 weak bass hifi system without any subwoofer. For a very very very noisy ambient or music without any bass (for example old music) the A800 is the best. So I change my headphones depending on the situation. I use public transportation and have a very noisy neighbor that is the reason I own the Technics A800 and the Bose QC45 (only to watch TV and video games but not music). For music I use my 3 pairs of Panasonic RB-M700B. I hope Panasonic will continue to offer and develop headphones with bass reactor vibration system because I can’t listen to techno and electronic music on head phones without a bass reactor anymore. The Sony MDR-XB950N1 Extra Bass head phones from 2017 have a bass reactor vibration system (my first head phones i had with a bass vibration system) but the new Sony WHXB910N Extra Bass from 2021 don’t has a bass vibration system anymore imo.
Would this help with drilling noise from 5 floors below if I also put earplugs into my ears? Would I be able to take a nap with these on (provided I don’t toss and turn) without being disturbed by the noise? What kind of music would I be able to listen to while “noise canceling”? Could I play something like rain sounds? Thanks in advance!
I have the Bose 700 and QC 35ii. But the QC 35ii doesn’t have the USB-C port, which all of my devices use so I can just carry one cable. So I’m torn between the WM4 Sony and the QC 45.
Of the three I would pick QC SE 🙂
Wired mode!? Only if you have a jack it fits in or have a jack attachment. They’re not worth the price
BIG COMPARISON (New and old ones): * Panasonic Technics A800 (owner) vs * Sony MX4 (tested 7 days) vs * Bose QC45 (owner) vs * Panasonic RB-M700BE (owner 5x) vs * Sony MDR-XB950 (Ex-Owner) vs * Sony WHXB910N (tested) : Every headphone has its weaknesses and its strengths :
The Panasonic Technics A800 has very good sound and ANC and it’s general volume and bass volume is much stronger and powerfull compared to Sony MX4 or Bose QC45. MX4 and QC45 are pretty the same in sound and ANC. QC45 has better software than MX4. The A800 software is in the level of QC45. The ANC of the Panasonic Technics A800 is much better than on Bose QC45 (And a lot of people say the QC45 has a little bit better ANC than MX4, so that means A800 has to be the best ANC on market at the moment) only exeption heavy vibrations from steps or public transportation… The Panasonic (A800 & RB-M700B) ANC has problems with that…
The ANC of the RB-M700B is worse but not that much worse than the others. When ANC is deactivated the RB-M700B has the best overall sound imo ! The RB-M700B is the onyl one you think you have a subwoofer ! That’s because it has a spring vibration system (bass reaktor). To listen my favorite music (genre electronic music and techno) and war games with a lot of bassy explosions I prefer to use the Panasonic RB-M700B. I really love the bass reactor vibration system very very very much !!!! It is the only one that feels like you have a 2.1 subwoofer hifi system. On the others new on market you thnink you have a bass weak 2.0 system. Also the mids and highs are good. I have a total of 5x RB-700’s to be sure i got great music hp for next 10 years. Because I live at to places i want minimum 4 head phones. So this matches nicely.
I use public transportation and have a very very very permanent noisy neighbor that is the reason I needed something more than the RB-M700B. I use the Bose QC45 for public transportation and the Panasonic Technics A800 for watching TV or silent video games at home when the neighbour is very loud (the A800 can better reduce noises from neighboor than the QC 45, bassy step noises and others).
