I just want these for the gym and hoping the bass is insane
Request: the most comfortable NC headphone to wear for the entire day
I had mine for 6months and they broke never been more disappointed in bose
Please dont spread misinformation about them beeing “the most comfortable headphones” cus they are not.
Might be the most comfortable ANC ones but not in general.
I appreciate this review i was torn between the 700 and the QC45 and decided to go with the 45 boy am I happy I did
You can’t adjust noise canceling on the qc45 I’m on them now watching this for a solution this sucks and I’m getting on the plane now there not gonna block much sound out can’t wait to return these
I bought a pair of QC45’s on Prime Day. I have a pair of 1000XM4’s, but I work in an environment where I often need to switch between source devices, and I really missed my earlier QC35II’s physical switch for device selection – switching devices with the Sonys requires either turning off BT on the other devices or firing up the app on my phone, which is a PITA.
I’m loving the QC45’s so far, especially since the latest firmware update has added EQ, but I really miss the QC35’s ability to fast forward and rewind using the center button – a feature that is sadly (and strangely) missing on the QC45’s. Hopefully Bose might reintroduce that function in another firmware update.
Have been hearing about its confortability in countless video review… Is it really true?
*If so , I’ll buy it quickly
Are they better than the 35s?
I stay with my OC 35 untill they break, but they build to last for very long time. I got a cheaper pair of Chinese Manufacturer Hadephones from Scyrthm they not so light and comfortbale like the OC35 but have a awesome , ANC ,batterylife and sound for just 60€. I wait untill they drop slightly more in price and untill my QC35 will no longer work. I wear mine the whole Day , they so lightweight and giving relief for people who sensory hearing issues. They calm down the world , they make your life so much better
Watching this video on Bose QC45 🤍
Riding a bike as a dane, these headphones are useless. Wind noise is extreme. In ear B&O do the job 10x better
I’ve had the qc35ii for several years and I’m sold on Bose! The Sony’s are great but I prefer Bose if for nothing else than one thing you did not talk about…warranty/customer service. When spending this much on something that is really a luxury item the warranty and customer service should factor in.
In my tenure with Bose they have gone above and beyond product support with little to no hurdles, seriously almost to a fault. Sony products has always made you jump through the hoops so there is that too.
I just ordered my new qc45 so I am looking forward to the upgrade as I got such a sweetheart deal on them that I couldn’t pass it up…once again talking about that Bose customer service!
All ate great headphones but Bose is the better company and that’s what wins me over on them!
I tested out the Sony 1000XM4 & Bose QC45 headphones w/ NC & Bose won. The over ear caps are super comfy & the sound quality was better. To be fair, my last pair of headphones were wired Sony ones with NC that lasted 5 years before the wires called it quits.
The Holy Grail of ANC headphones, in my opinion and which admittedly may seem a bit harsh, is “cancelling “ crying babies. We’ve all been there, right? On planes, trains and automobiles. In restaurants or other public places. Any ANC with some soft music will usually mask the noise but sometimes you just want peace and quiet. Babies cry at a high frequency and as the frequencies scale up, ANC capabilities scale down. Bose being able to cancel some midrange, in this case being normal human speaking, would have coaxed me back from a long-standing resistance to Bose with deference to Sony.
I had the original Sony WH-1000XM mk I and currently own the mk IV. What I like:
– foldable design with the headband hinges and swiveling earcups
– Very low profile design. It actually makes a difference as the headphones become more suble on your head.
– very good dynamic range and clean, solid bass. Soundstage is fully acceptable for the type of headphones.
– The Sony app has gotten better and firmware updates are made easy with the app
– EQ in the Sony app and two customizable settings you can save.
– When choosing EQ, including the customizable ones, the headphones will remember these settings when connecting to another device that might not have the Sony app. You can look at this as good or bad, I give it a big plus.
– finally in the mk IV, two-point bluetooth connectivity
– Noise cancelling prowess: Very, very good. ANC functionality is continuing it’s slow journey up the frequency range. Sit on a commuter train, put on some soothing background music and read the papeer with no distractions.
– The almost best for last – Dekoni makes plush leather earpads for the XM mk IV’s. It’s unusual for a company like Dekoni to make pads for ANC headphones but they did this time. The earpads are supercomfortable and will definitely give your ears more space. If your ears are the kind that press against the inner earcup of headphones like these then you definitely want these earpads. The earpads also create more soundstage with a negligible effect on SQ. Note! These earpads will make the headphones a little wider, meaning that the low profile as with the stock earpads will be affected. Also note! You will sacrifice some noise cancelling performance with the Dekoni earpads. I enjoy the comfort and soundstage and I can listen to music to offset the loss of ANC quality.
What I don’t like:
– The Sony app, while improved and improving, still needs work in both UI and functionality
– The touch controls. You have to be very delierate with your gestures, otherwise changing volume becomes changing songs, or vice versa. I miss mechanical buttons, especially in the winter.
– These cans do not like moisture. I’ve pushed mine as far as they will go, wearing them when I do work around the house in the summer, sometimes in light rain. They do not like moisture from sweat or rain. The controls become hinky (the brushing of a tree leaf against the earcup is enough to change tracks!) and I’ve also pushed them until they quit (not from battery drainage). Once they dried off they were back in action again. So: No workouts, no sweaty labour, no walks in the rain (unless protected somehow of course) with these headphones.
Other:
I’m not buying the XM mk V. I like to skip a generation or two to that the improvements feel more significant. I went after all from the original XM mk I to the XM mk IV. I was waiting for the mk IV’s for a long time. The XM mk III’s were Sony’s only option for a very long time. Then finally comes the MK IV’s and all of a sudden the MK V’s are on the market! Unless these headphones passed the crying baby test with flying colours, I will not buy them because of the non-folding design. They look good and are obviously going head-to-head with Boses 700 series headphones. It’s a fierce battle between these two giants, Sony and Bose.
The elephant in the room is Apple and their AirPods Max. So here’s the long and short of it, and I own them so I know: Stellar ANC performance. They beat my Sony XM IV’s on both a plane and communter train. The awareness mode on AirPods is more natural than Sony and probably Bose. Stellar audio quality for meetings! I’ve been in meetings while walking and I have asked people about the quality of my voice and ambient noise issues. After being surpised to hear I was out walking, no one complained about traffic or the quality of my voice. There’s a price to be paid for this quality, besides the ginormous pricetag: The AirPods Max are heavy, really heavy, and you will get warm ears and the earpads will get funky after a while. Throw those puppies (as in the earpads) into a laundry bag and into the wash. They’re gonna need it. If you have an Apple TV and need to watch TV without disturbing others, the spacial audio and Dolby Atmos really is very good. It’s too bad about the weight as they can get uncomfortable after a while.
So there you have it. All you need to do now is to choose.
Qc 35 II all the way love the Qc line. Had the 700s but sold them as I hate touch pads. Love the physical buttons.
Bro I have some serious issues with headphones…I hate the comfort on the wh1000xm4…they make my ears pain in 20 mins! Also the Bose 700 were extremely tight for me…but the qc 45 is the most comfortable pair of headphones I ve ever worn….it is crazy how simar xm4 and qc45 and how big of a difference their fit and comfort is to me.
I have the Bose sport earbuds. But looking to get the Bose 45 headphones to use for traveling, my studies and walking around London. Is it worth getting the headphones as I already have the sport buds?
Good review, thank you.
Is bluetooth disabled during cable connection?
