I still love my XM3s and the sound they produce is brilliant.
The 700s are ugly
Listening to this on my Sony XM4s 😉
I have both the QC-35 II and QC-45, and the bluetooth connections on the 45s are superior. My qc-35IIs randomly drop and reconnect to my iPhone or laptop while I’m using them, which is annoying and the voice announcements when this happens are annoying. The qc-45s stay connected for longer distances, so I don’t have to carry my phone around the house when I move about. The sound seems pretty much the same on both, the controls are identical, and both are very comfortable. With the bluetooth 5, the qc-45s win.
SBC codec only?
And here I am with the Bose A20…
Every headphones should have replacable earcups like that of Airpods Max
This was actually a good review.
Are you sure about ditching sony? Lmao XD
I got XM3 and will wait for XM5
Look good..I wear the XM4s almost every day though.
I have these. They are terrible when working with windows. Unusable, in Windows the QC45s identify as a handsfree mono-headset with limited bitrate reducing call quality (on multiple laptops and desktops that I’m using the result was the same but they did work well with Android/Apple iOS devices and my FireTV Cube) and as stereo headphones but they will never play through the stereo audio output mode in Windows 10 no matter what I try (my main use-case being needing a wireless headset for meetings). Also, the mics are incredibly quiet even when turned all the way up in Windows.
They work great with my IPhone and I love the ability to swap between devices from within the app as the headphones can connect to two devices at the same time. I have 10+ devices paired with these and going to the app is a bit annoying but works well to swap between devices (the annoying alternative being: devices can just request control on their own which happens unexpectedly at times with some of my other headphones – when opening a laptop for example). When wearing these in quiet environments there is a bit of quiet ringing. Also, the sound stage is good but not nearly as wide as open-back headphones. I agree that they are better than the Sony headphones, which I also have. The sound profile does not emphasize bass to the degree that the AirPod Maxs do which I don’t like. Also, the upgraded Bluetooth range over the original QC35s is very nice for walking around the house while working from home. The QC45 still weigh noticeably more than the original QC35 however they are still very light.
Hopefully, they will fix the windows drivers. I imagine they will within the next few months and have reported the issues but could use a signal boost on the QC45’s Windows drivers issues. @CNET
I have the QC 35 and they were the most comfortable I had ever worn but unfortunately not durable. I loved them so much im looking to upgrade to the 45
Buying cushions instead
Bose seem to be going downhill. My year old QC 35II’s ear cushions are worn out and they don’t even seem to have replacements available in India. Looking at the QC45, the upgrades seem to be minimal and mic quality has become worse. Seems like a new version was released just to create a perception that they are moving forward without putting in real R&D to improve the headphones.

Is it possible to replace the micro usb port of my Bose QC35 2 with micro “usb-C” ?
Still on the QC 35 II and NC700 no complaints
The bose 700 is honestly a useless sku. It lost the portability and for what? Anesthetics? Give me the better portability and articulation any day of the week. They sound similar anyway. Just don’t hide app functionality behind a more expensive product for no reason
As the owner of two QC35IIs, I was of course very excited about these successors. I already think this ANC of them is the BEST of all so far. The latter is extremely important to me when it comes to the successor. A bit of background noise is not important to me. The only no-go’s: No Alexa function or EQ anymore …. But I think: It is logical that a test soooo early still reveals small “problems”. Wait a year and Bose will add one or the other function in both the firmware and the app. As they are now, and at such an early stage, I would never buy anything. As long as possible I stay with my forever beloved QC35II. Best EVER !!!
A small addition: The absolute top class would be an ANC headphone where the user can set the frequency parameters of the ANC system himself, so that one would be able to eliminate a very specific noise by tuning (using rotary knobs or via app)
