I’m thinking about getting the “HIFIMAN SUNDARA Over-Ear Full-Size Planar Magnetic HiFi Stereo Wired Headphones for Studio&Audiophiles (Black)” but I’m not sure if I should get get an amp with it or not. I’ve read mixed reviews that it doesn’t change much and vise versa. But in your video you said any headphone below 100dB (it’s 94dB) should get an amp with it. I’ve got the money for an amp but I’m just not sure if this headphone specifically needs one and if I do decide to get an amp, which amp should I buy for it?

You can have the perfect sounding headphones, but if they’re uncomfortable to wear they’re useless! My Sennheiser 5xx and 6xx series are not comfortable to wear for hours at a time. The clamping force is too high. After a while, all I can think of is how to get out of this torture device.

couple years ago I bought my very first openback headphones, Fidelo x2hr, with FiiO amp, I absolutely love the sound quality of these, I cannont compare them to anything since I’m new to headphones. Unfortunately the swivel pins on the cups broke, on my second set already, not sure if I want to get a 3rd set, my question to you is, is there anything on your list here, that can be compared to the sound quality and cost 150-180$ at the same time ? I was looking at the x3 but I hear the bass isn’t as good? I use these on my pc for music and lately some gaming, mostly racing simulator, thank you for any help.

you could have given audio examples of what you said for instance for the mid range sound natural, or inhuman…. people will have WILDLY different interpretations from those sound cues.

Hi and thanks for the video, I have a question, I am a musician and i like to go practice in parks and listen to music, I am looking for good headphones to do that, I heard that open planar magnetic are fragile and that its kinda dangerous to take them outside if there’s wind or whatever, I would like your take on this, do you think I should better get a closed back one ? thanks, keep it up!

I’ve bought some expensive headphones so now I laugh at people who have cheap ones and talk about the incredible midrange even though I don’t know what it means. The most important thing about this hobby is that you pretend to know something and substantiate it with buzzwords like an art connoisseur.
